Oh boy,
I don't listen to music if I'm doing ANYTHING else.
I get too involved in the music and can't do anything else.
Took girl to club with jazz band...girl mad because I forgot her once the band started playing. Not good for sex life.

I only use my computer song list for figuring out my tunes for my shows! I love having the ability to really take apart the songs and practically figure them out note for note as opposed to the old days when I used cassette and had to keep rewinding , hoping to get at the exact spot I was working on!

Norain - I can relate. My wife hates to go to live music stuff with me cuz she says I'm always analyzing & never pay attention to her...
Me too. At U2 they thought I wasn't having a good time. I was anlyzing every instrument and vocal and the mix etc etc etc.

i am currently listening to mobb deep and before that was that song from virgin suicides, playgorund love....YEAYAH

The answer to this question is: it depends.
Lately, at work (software developer) I have been listening to a lot of Imogen Heap/Frou Frou/Stars and similar music.
Sometimes it's my iPod on random.
Sometimes it's a heavy dose of progressive rock (Rush, Dream Theater, Enchant).
When I used to play MMORPG's like Everquest, I would listen to the three Lord of the Rings soundtracks on repeat.
When I am writing, it's usually something super ethereal like Cliff Martinez' soundtrack to Solaris (one of my favorites). I also like writing to Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack. And Toto's Dune soundtrack.
So, yeah... it depends.

Really depends on my mood. Sometimes Dream Theater, sometimes Akira Yamaoka. (Silent Hill music) Van Halen, Paul Gilbert and if I'm angry... maybe some Static-X.
It depends. I used to spend time at soundclick.com but that's suddenly restricted here at work.
I check out the stuff of people who are members here. Some good, some not so good and some without a clue.
Today it was CD's. Jazz. One record by Gene Ammons and the second wiht Gene Ammons and Sonny Stitt. I doubt that will have much meaning here.
Tomorrow? Who knows? Maybe it will be you.

right now I'm listening to the Shenmue orchestra soundtrack - import from japan for the game Shenmue
lately its been the new Wolfmother extended cd COSMIC EGG...I just can't keep from listening to it, the songs just repeat in my head over and over and over and over! I definitely reccomend it to everyone. Its a really RAW album but I think its put together quite well, in fact I consider some of the songs to be epic!
