So, what's up with this. I heard that the government was stopping all the p2p share sites like Morpheus, bearshare and all of them. when does that take affect??? that sucks, no more free music. Does anyone know of any alternate sites to download free music?
The court ruling said that Bear Share and others can be sued for infringement even though copyrighted files don't reside on the servers of the networks themselves. Remember Napster when they got shut down? The line was drawn against them because the music was on their servers. It looks like the line has been moved. The next questions is, will labels or bands sue directly, and if so, how heavy will they come down on all networks?
File sharing will not end, because the smaller bands with more talent want their music shared and heard. This might get rid of the "top 40" people, so this is actually good news for the younger less seen talent if they want to be heard.
I wonder how many of us try to get our music heard on file-sharing sites?
