My son took pictures at last nights gig. It was 38 degrees but I guess Im hotblooded cause I had to peel off some clothes. That crown probably helped some too.

We played from 6-8pm as the headliner, meaning we got the big money. The other groups didnt get paid anything cause they spent the whole budget on us. I felt bad so I gave them all huggies and cds.

We played the whole 2 hours and didnt take a break the organizers said that they thought we would break in the middle, I told him that once we get going we dont stop til quitting time. We start with a crowd of 350-400 folks by the end it whittled down to less thatn a 100. I think we had more fun than the audience something that happens a lot in our world. But it was a successful gig. We had friends from 4 states show up with their kids to see us. My kids went and although they got bored sitting around waitting thru 3 other groups I think they had an appreciation for what goes in to a rock show. They both are aspiring musicians and I said if you dont like how this works you need to find something else to do cause this was nothing we showed up with stage gear and were loaded back up within 20 minutes and on the road at 8:30, my son took my daughter home and me and the singer hit a couple of clubs, played pool, sat in with a band for 3 songs, going in and out of all these local bars in our leather stuff. People were buying us beers and saying how good we did at the Fest. Felt kinda like tha rockstar song, you know, but for real.

I like that 2nd shot, your son seems to have an eye for composition. Last one is good too, and the motion shots are a good idea but less motion would make a great picture. That's hard to get right, just enough to blur and leave traces but not enough to obliterate...the best ones are when you can stay still and move just the guitar neck. Then your features should stay in focus while the guitar makes good traces.

Bill he wasnt trying for motion, he reset the camera. Ive got 100 of those blurred shots. I finally looked at the camera and changed it back fo rthe clear ones. He came up in the middle of song and I just held a note, set the camera and then kept on rocking without missing a beat. It was great having my kids with me at this gig. I love them and am truelly blessed to have them in my life. I have to pinch myself and wonder why I have such good kids. I hope I didnt embarass them too much!

OK I thought it was intentional. He should try to develop that kind of shot, occasionally you get a really good one. He did good though, the others look good, angle shots and so forth. Most people don't even try, just get some decent snapshots...

He set the camera for night time which does hold the aperture open longer and creates the movement. I didnt catch what he had done till late in the gig, but thats all right I kinda like a few blurry moments, its kinda how some gigs feel from my viewpoint anyway. I set this camera on auto and it ussually does great no matter who is shooting the pictures but my son is too smart for his own good sometime.

He got some good shots, especially the one with you wailling high up the frets.
