There is nothing civil, good or right about war, period. War and hatred demonstrate that we're much closer to apes than to God.

When we kill babies it's right; when anyone else does they're barbarians. Hell, we've leveled entire cities with a single bomb, even the terrorists haven't done that.

Please come down from your ivory towers, we need united states - and people.

we need united states - and people.

I could not agree with that statment any more than I do Jimmy.
But you know, I dont believe there will ever be peace among men untill the return of Christ. Until that time there will be men bent on visiting all sorts of evil on their brothers. We cannot stop fighting wars any more than we could stop inforcing laws.
Violent men will prey on the weak, no matter how many of us sing aquarius.

You are right , just point out the ridiculous.

As a musician with a conscience it is my duty to point out the ridiculous. Bu some people couldn't see it if they had 96 eyes.

Funny, a lot of people care about our world image. I'm sure those killed on 9/11 would care about our world image, if they were alive. But why would you care??

Wht do you think their friends and loved ones think?
"Oh, if only our world image had been better... my husband would still be alive.."

Im just gonna go out on a limb and say tht their line of thinking might be slightly different than that.

I think people care about being misrepresented the most.

News flash for ya - most of the world hates us because of the policies and actions of our government over the last 50 some years. Anything that can improve our image among these countries is a good thing. Obama was as surprised as anyone to get this award, but after thinking about it he is deserving. Our image has improved due not only to the fact that the Bush regime is over, but also due to the new administration. Let's try to give him a chance; if after four years it hasn't worked, he'll be gone.

Jimi is absolutely right, of course.

After 9-11, a lot of people asked: "why did they attack us"

Our leaders offered these answers:

"because they hate our freedoms"
"because they hate democracy"

etc...

Does anyone at all not realize how stupid that sounds? I mocked it then, and was openly called a traitor, terrorist sympathizer, etc...

Getting back to the ONLY thing that really matters-

Why did they attack us?

The answers are obvious and easily obtainable. Just read some history of the middle east and US relations, starting in about 1945 and forward...

What a Christain you are... So loving, so turn the other cheek. What church do you attend, the church of daily hatred, led by the anti-christ Lush Rimj_b? Have you read the New testament or only the Old? Jesus does not want you to hate and if you were true to your ideals, you would never write those words. But you did. It speaks ill of you. Examine your thoughts, it will come to you.

I hate it when folks call folks 'not christian' for sinning. You do know that jesus was the only one who walked the earth and never sinned right?

You think you have somehow debunked a man's faith by pointing out what may be his error? That's foolish. It doesn't make you any more christian either. We all have flaws and sometimes say things that we maybe don't even mean. How does ostricising(spelling) help the situation at all?

Furthermore if you take more than 5 seconds to get to know the guy you'll find him to be gentle, well meaning, friendly, and wise.

WHEN YOU POINT THE FINGER AT SOMEONE ELSE NOTE THAT YOUR OWN THREE FINGERS ARE POINTING BACK AT YOU.

What would Jesus do? What would Jesus have the self identifying Christian do? Jesus hated evil and he loved mankind, all of mankind, especially the sinner. Yes, people can hate, that's a given. However. if someone takes the time to point out, in public, that they are one thing and then what they write or say or do is completely opposite to what they first profess, then they cannot be what they espouse to be. It is the height of illogic to hold two diametrically opposed thoughts in one's head as true at the same time. Get it?

To be religious means that you choose to live your life a certain way. You make that choice. You choose a direction or a philosophy, you try to live up to the precepts. You either are or you are not. You either do or you do not. Yes, you can slip but it cannot be consistent slippage, or what's the point? What your Christian friend is doing is the equivalent of saying I love Jesus and I also love Satan, at the same time.

BTW, I'm not a Christian, though I have read the Bible three times through as an exercise in understanding this culture as well as the religion. I'm fine with Judeo/Christian ethics as a moral under pinning that brings order our basic relations with each other on this earth. Where Jesus said love one another, I took it that he was being literal. When Jesus preached the sermon on the mount, often called the Beatitudes, I took his meaning to be literal, not figurative. Have you read them? They are beautiful When I read the ten Commandments, I don't see a set of guide lines, do you? Those commandments seem to have been expressed in a very emphatic manner. So your three fingers comment is very cute but do let me know if you really want to discuss scripture with me. As I said I'm not a Christian but I do know a bit about it.

All I know is that I don't feel all that "stimulated" these days, economically or patriotically.

To give Obama his due, he hasn't even been in office long enough to make a baby. I think I'm still frustrated after the last 8 yrs & I want that change he promised yesterday, dammit, but all I can do is keep waiting...

I still think the NPP is a joke though.

Des - I dunno what to make of you, yet, but it generally isn't a great idea to come out of the box with an attack on our beloved brethren. He DID say "God help me," or "God forgive me," or somesuch, somewhere in there. He's making no apologies for his feelings (except to his God), just stating the fact that he has them. He knows it's his personal failing, & has already admitted it. No need for an attack, imho.

You seem to expect a lot from ppl, from what you're showing us. You gotta remember that they're just ppl, whether they claim to be religious or not. "Judge not, lest ye be judged," & all that.

Sans is no hypocrite. I know plenty of them, & he just doesn't fit the label. There are times when he gets confused or makes a misstep, but don't we all?

You should try to get to know him a lil better. He isn't one of those "do as I say not as I do" guys. He doesn't preach at ppl, either. He honestly TRIES to be all he can be in his faith, & when he fails, he owns up to it with a certain style & aplomb that I find quite endearing. (LOL) He's a good guy, & his heart's in the right place even when he flooks up (which is more than I can say for myself, sometimes). I have a lot of respect for him, & I would like to meet him one day in person, cuz for one thing, I think he's as fine an example of his belief as anyone I've ever talked with, & I'm not a christian, either.

you logic is built upon the fallacy that to be christian is impossible if one sins/says he hates. the two are far from mutually exclusive. show me someone who is religious who hasn't sinned? you could argue that he isn't a good christian, but arguing that he isn't a christian is like arguing that one isn't jewish. it's like someone using a word like 'illogic' and someone else drawing the conclusion that the person is not capable of logic. I believe you still are capable.

Dessalines wrote:To be religious means that you choose to live your life a certain way. You make that choice. You choose a direction or a philosophy, you try to live up to the precepts.

no, it means you've decided to TRY to live your life in a certain way...

YET EVERY CHRISTIAN FALLS SHORT OF THOSE IDEALS... YET THEY ARE STILL CHRISTIANS... SO JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED.... TRY TO SOFTLY INFLUENCE IF YOU CARE AND IF YOU DON'T THEN U R JUST BUSTING OFF AT THE LIP.

Dessalines wrote:You either are or you are not. You either do or you do not. Yes, you can slip but it cannot be consistent slippage, or what's the point? What your Christian friend is doing is the equivalent of saying I love Jesus and I also love Satan, at the same time.

so you've decided where that line in the sand is for us, how nice of you.
IT IS NOT UP TO YOU TO JUDGE WHO IS AND WHO ISN'T... RATHER IT IS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL TO TRY TO LIVE UP TO WHAT THEY CALL THEMSELVES. YOU MAY WANT TO READ THE WORDS WRITTEN ON YOUR HEART IN LIEU OF READING IT A FOURTH TIME.

TAKE ANY RELIGIOUS FIGURE YOU WANT AND LOOK HARD ENOUGH... YOU'LL FIND FLAW... DOES THAT MEAN THERE ARE NO CHRISTIANS? NO IT DOESN'T. IT'S A MISGUIDED ARGUMENT, AT BEST, TO LOOK AT SOMEONE BASED ON A FEW THINGS THEY'VE SAID AND PROCLAIM THAT YOU KNOW THEY ARE OR AREN'T THIS OR THAT. HOPEFULLY THIS IS SOFT ENOUGH FOR YOU TO TAKE A SPOONFUL.

THE REST OF YOUR WRITING IS OF NO INTEREST, NOR IS IT RELEVANT. NO OFFENSE. JUST DOESN'T INTEREST ME AT ALL. I COULDN'T CARE LESS IF YOU CALL YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN. I DON'T KNOW YOU.

While your at it, go back and read some history of the middle east and European relations, starting, oh I dunno... about a thousand years ago and forward.

They attacked us, because they see us as the figurehead, or the strongest pillar, of the 'great satan'.

Then again some people would have you believe that we attacked our selves.
If that ever turns out to be true, then just diregard anything I've ever typed.

While I don't subscribe to all the conspiracy theories out there, it is disturbing that I can't completely disbelieve that our government is capable of doing something like that to serve it's own agenda. It's a sad thing when you have a government that is so corrupt and unscrupulous that you even wonder about things like this. It would seem that we are reaching a momentous fork in the road where one path could lead to a world that actually cares about itself, and the other to total breakdown. Then again, we could have reached that fork a long time ago and just don't realize that we took the wrong turn.
Shoulda taken a right toin at Albaquoike. Th th th th that's all folks.

Have to side yet again with Rat on this. (And I hate politRocket posts) :D Whatever your grievances its pretty apparent we are either heading for something or we've already hit it. If its the latter we should all be concerned.
