Does that count?

I do wanna do one of my own someday, though.

Sure that counts. Do you have a copy of it? Can we listen to some of it?

Will trade for good runnin tractor.

Was that from one of the 45's you sent me? I'd trade my Wizard for it, but the shipping would KILL me. :)

technically I don't have a CD, but my band (Valerie) put out an EP and then a full length before the band formed around her. :)

It would really be cool if Bandmix put a "Bandmix members' CD" list or something like that on the Bandmix Forum Index page.

Agreed.
Talking about making BandMix more legit, as far as a TRUE MUSICIANS website.
That do it IMO.

Our band, Nearly Surrounded, just finished our demo. Home studio recording, but Kris and Steve did a great job, imo. You can listen to all but one song on our bandmix page. We haven't had a chance to send it off and get "pretty cd's". ;-) I'm just burning copies and handing them out to friends and anyone who is interested. We're managing ourselves so booking gigs is slow...but we're excited.

Well, congrats Lisa. Are your songs all originals? (don't have time now but will check them out later). I think home studio recordings can be almost as good as pro stuff. If it turned out really good so far, maybe later you can send them off and have them mastered into pro quality and ready for sales. Good luck with it.

Hi Lisa.

Is that the WMA file you have on your audio section in you profile or did I miss something? Soz I just know only that the player carries most folks stuff around these parts.

Hope I'm not missing something and for sounding ignorant too.
Welcome.

Chippy - The songs aren't on my ad...they're on the bands page. Nearly Surrounded in Spring, TX. I'm pictured right there with "the guys".

The lead singer, Steve R., writes the songs. They're all originals. We do some covers, too. Let me know what ya'll think. I'd love some feedback if you have time.

I've got an album and more worth of songs that I just need to record. I'm having a hard time finding a studio though. When I get these songs recorded I'll have my own cd. :D Question to some of you that have been through the copyrighting process - Once you've filed your paperwork, do you necessarily have to wait to get it back before you begin to hand out or sell your cd? I was just curious if it's assumed that you'll get the copyright and it's retroactive so to speak. Also, has anyone ever heard of a company called DirectLegal? I've heard they are pretty reputable and wondered if anyone here had used them or knew someone who did.

I can't answer all of your Q's, but awhile back, Johnny Winter released an LP with some of the songs labelled "Copyright pending." So yeah, I guess, if you're that sure that you'll get your copyrights, you can release your music with that lil addition to the printing on the cover.

I've done the pro studio thing 3 times, and all I got was a lousy t-shirt.

I've copyrighted over 50 songs; yes, copyrights from the Library of Congress are retroactive, back to the date they received your music.
