I read the article and find no fault in carnival- In fact, the last sentence of the article states that the families of the 6 people arrested commended carnival's decision to stop going to that port.

I think some of you might want to re-read that article. Sounds like over-zealous cops and crooked cabbies (been victim to a few of them myself!) are the only problem.

As far as my band goes, I have a wife and an autistic daughter. To be away from home for 4 months straight just isn't an option, unless it can pay for a nanny and someone to do my half of the house duties (and pay the bills, etc.).. it simply won't do.

Did we not just have someone on hear talking about their cruse contract that not only included singing but cleaning toilets as well?
I am sure you have to mind your contract closely anytime you sign one.
But on a ship, in international waters? Some legal issues would need to be addressed.
Billy is right on the money. Americans are far to used to their "rights" making it ok to be a dickhead. Smart mouth a cop in south america you may get shot. They dont give a flyin fluke about the ACLU or the pink panthers.
