That is one of those songs that I immediately recognised within seconds when it came on the radio. On a good day I could turn it off before the beat started. I once heard a slobbering staggering drunk at a party declair that White Snake was his New Led Zep. I very quickly got him another beer hoping he would pass out and save himself any further embarrasment.

I saw them open for Jethro Tull back in '79...they were absolutely horrible...but I suppose they're cute enough, if that's what you're into -

I liked the '80's cuz Peter Gabriel was in his heyday...Marillion was doing some great stuff...new wave was good sometimes...disco was out...& I was starting to get some music gigs that actually paid pretty good money

Peter Gabriel...yes.

Don't forget:

Depeche Mode
The Cure
The Fixx
New Order
A Flock of Seagulls
Dead or Alive
Duran Duran
The Thompson Twins
and a ton of others I don't have time to list.

But Whitesnake? Barf. Probably more like WhitePinkie.

i like the way this boy thinks (had an aversion to Duran2, though)....but the 80s had a lot of good hard rock, as well. Dio put out two classic albums. judas priest had a ton of good songs. i never latched on to Whitesnake, but "still of the night" makes an appearance in my shower routine now and then.

Oh! Um...er....uh...I thought you were talking about MUSIC!

Silly me...

Of course, with their blow-dried hair, skin-tight clothes & make-up, it was hard to tell which one was which, from certain camera angles...LOL
