Wet was the word. It was raining pretty good when Steve Tony and I headed out to set up. When we got to the park it was just drizzling some but the Ampehteater was dry. In more ways than one

.
Seems the good folks of the City of Kilgore neglected to turn the power on so it put everything about an hour behind. they never did get the power on to the coverd pavillion where the good folks were cooking and providing free foods and drinks, yet they were troopers and scrounged some battery lamps. These ladies and gents were so warm and friendly.
I dont get hugged that much at my family reunions.
There were 8 acts / bands involved, mostly Hip Hop.
But I tell ya true, some of them sang and rapped or rapped so clear and with a much more complex moving beat than the usuall THUMP THUMP BUZZ (hear the rust falling off of the inside of the trunk of the car)
And I really enjoyed it.
Two (white) Rock bands.
Modern Miracle a group of young high energy modern metalist.
They had some songs I enjoyed, and some, well lets just say if they'd focused more on instrumentation than acrobatics it may have been ok.
I wont fault them totally for what was a too busy / muddled sound to my ear, but they put on a hell of a show jumping around and the younger folk really seemed to enjoy it.
I feed the DJ our monitor mix so I had control over our sound. And I had many complements "you guys are just awsome"
"your vocals are so clear" etc. Numerous people said we had the best mix.
Despite the on and off drizzle we had a pretty good crowd. And this is going to sound racest but Black folks know how to party and interact / support a band, it was
GREAT.
So much screaming yelling clapping and dancing I was like

WOW !!
No Audio or Vid due to weather considerations, but I will try to post a picture. (ya'll all know how well that goes for me.

)
Sorry for the novel, guess I am still a little high from it all.
