Now that I'm revving up to bring some rather expensive vintage gear out for use, I don't trust sound guys or any clubs power since it's a bit of juice needed and it seems every bar I play the power sucks really bad.

Will be running a Sunn 2000s and 2 old 100watt Ampeg heads, Tubed Leslie, my rack and a few other various things so I need something that will handle a lot of stuff.

Any recommendations for the best power conditioners for vintage amps that can handle a bunch of stuff and feed steady safe power?

From what I have read Furman is top of the line.
But then how hard can it be for an engineer to construct a power conditioner?

Ahh thanks, I was looking at a used PL-8C but saw the p1800 with the Power Factor Technology and wonder if that might be the better and worth the extra money, guess I'll have to do some more reading up, just wondered if anyone had experience with them ...since I've always just "rolled the Dice" with what power I was using and I'm sorta clueless on some stuff. (I don't claim to know everything and will be the first to ask questions since there is always someone out there that knows more than what I can find out)

The Furman stuff is good no doubt, however they do not have a "connected equipment warrenty".

I use a Belkin II BZ111200-06 surge protector with a Furman because the Belkin has a $300,000.00 connected equipment warrenty.

If the furman fails you are SOL, if the Belkin fails they will replace the dollar amount of the equipment you lost. Now heres the deal, I have never heard of a Furman failing. A friend of mine had a different Belkin that did fail and they did replace his Gibson and Marshall but now he always has that in the back of his mind and so do I.

Warranties are only as solvent as the company that offers it.
Keep that in the back of your mind as well.

I hear ya...money is tight, I fix up old Tonewheel Hammond organs I get for free that haven't run in over 20 years and get them back up and running and sell them quick for a great deal to get cash for gear since the wife doesn't see music gear as a necessity

I try to fix and make as much stuff as I can, but I can't do and know everything

That's why I ask a ton of questions and do a ton of research before I make the long trip to a REAL music store... since all the local music stores are completely useless for ANYTHING (I rant about that in general chat)

We have a furman in our pa rack and have never had any issues and we play in some funky places with varying voltages.

Thinking back I think the only ones Ive used are furmans.

I think that older tube stuff actually acts better with voltage drops than the more modern digital stuff, but thats just my 2 cents.

Cool you have a Sunn, I have a mid 70s Sunn Model T and used to use an Ampeg V-4 head, and for a little while had a Ampeg VT-10. Great amps for Rolling Stones type tones.

What the hell do ya need a power conditioner for? It's VINTAGE! That means it was built before they need all these pu**y power conditioners.

I dont think most old gear needs a power conditioner. We just use them in our pa rack.

Yeah, never used them before either, but after havign a few problems at the last gig and reading horror stories of people wrecking their amps at gigs, was just wondering if I should be using something.

Probably should get it for my rack and keys at least.
