Lyrics
All That Really Matters
Lyrics by Ray Jackson
Melody by Ray Jackson, George Heil
Music by Noisy Kung Fu

It seems like today is gone before it's here
And tomorrow's just a dream...on a sleepless night
Yesterday never happened...at least I'm pretty sure
All that's real is now and then it's gone...

[Chorus]
In a world where nothing matters, except what won't last
You gotta focus on the Eternal and forget about the past
And love one another just like Jesus did
This is all that matters when you see God in the end

The years keep going faster, faster all the time
I hold on to tomorrow and then it slips away
It's not easy to be happy, but I do my best
When a dream gets shattered, I remember the rest...

(Chorus)
(Solo)
(Chorus x2)

When you see God in the end...
When you see God in the end...

George, I really like it. If you wanted to make it less secular I would suggest this for the chorus:

In a world where nothing matters, except what won't last
You gotta focus on tomorrow and forget about the past
Love one another and be a better friend
It's all that really matters when you come to the end

This also contains your song title, which the lyrics currently don't. But great job!

Thanks Jimmy.
This is actually one of the oldest songs in our repituar.
And may be the first song Ray wrote for us. It has gone through more changes than all the other songs as well.
I appreciate the suggestion, but being we (the band) are all about Jesus's grace and the free gift of forgiveness that is ours through him, we wont be making anything more secular.

Though these Lyrics and the song is on our website, with all the debate and concern about the economy, healthcare, etc.
I thought I'd just share this on the forum.
As much for my own benefit as anyone elses.
Being injured and not being able to help my wife to put bread on the table (or in the bank) like I feel I should. It can be hard not to lose focus on what is really important in life.

Well, hummm, Yes. I dont have any recent recordings of this track at present, with the B/U vox and all.
But I will see what I can scrounge up until we can get to studio and do it right.

don't compromise sans IMO. I like it. I thought it was something you heard.

absolutely love the dreams shattered line.

admittedly some of the past future meanderings are predictable... but they convey the point just as well.

George, I REALLY like what you guys are doing. Your music is very straightforward. I like your website. You really have something going on. I can hear a tremendous band forming here, looking forward to a real studio version of your material. Success has everything to do with sticking together and believeing what you are doing. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

MUCHAS GRACIAS MI AMIGOS.

The web site is all Ray Jackson, as is a large percentage of our music.
For a young man whom never touched the guitar nor attempted to sing before 2005, he is progressing well. With Tony's help on the vocals, and my improving guitar skill I feel we have something sustainable going on here. Great chemistry within this group of family men too.
The age range is one thing that I get tickled about, from <30> 55 kind of unusual I think. We have had to reschedule our weekly rehearsals a few times, but I can only think of two we have had to cancel in > 3 years.

More to come I assure you!
