A little?

LMFAO!!!

But on the serious side...

Thank you man. I'm sure they already did, but I want to thank you. You made the most difficult moment in a parent's life, just a little easier. Their grief is going to be there in endless waves. But grief surrounded by a song, is like a baby being cradled. Comforted. Soothed. Safe.

For the rest of their lives, when they hear that song, they will remember their last moments with their son, and they will remember the comfort you gave them.

Ooops!

Should know better than to PWI, right, Z?

I hear there's a video out there somewhere. If I get it, & it ain't too bad, I'll post it...LOL

It was frikken HOT out there yesterday. I was drenched even before I started to play. They had me, the preacher, & the guy's sister all sitting up by the table with the ashes, facing about 100 ppl.

I did "Live Like you Were Dying" early on in the ceremony. I couldn't look at anyone, cuz I just knew they were all in tears. There was a display showing the guy sky diving on a vid, so the song was that much more poignant.

At the end, I did a little intro like I always do to "Country Roads," so no one knew what I was going to play at 1st. As I started to sing, I glanced down to see this damned tick crawling up my left arm. It was kinda ookie seeing it progress up & under the sleeve as I sang like nothing was going on.

I hung around for a few minutes when it was all over, but just the sight of that critter was making me itch all over, so I left. I never did find it, & believe me, I did a rather thorough search when I got to the bar. Having not found it, I figured the best thing to do was to drink gin until the itching stopped.

You can tell when I've been in my cups. Most of the letters on my keyboard are missing (rubbed off, I guess), so I gotta be careful about proofreading before hitting the send button. I find I'm not so careful when I'm PWI...

In my rather weak defense, I went to Dddonnie's to return the equipment, but he wasn't home. So I went to the bar to find him, as I expected him to be out having dinner, since he was feeling so sore. When he wasn't there, well...doo-doo occurs, right? Besides, I WAS ITCHY!

I gotta say that "Live Like..." is one of the hardest songs I ever had to learn. The lyrical phrasing is really out there, & you have to really concentrate until you can feel the flow of the lyric as if it were like a line in a play that has to fit the music, rather than like a lyrical poem. Each line is different, with a different attack & emphasis. I'm glad I learned it, though, & I just might try to get TFRB to play it, but then I'll have to relearn it on bass & sing it....ooooh...that would be a challenge!

I DID manage to do the song without cheat sheets...good thing, too! There wasn't anyway I could have used 'em, really...

I just discovered a note written on a napkin in my pocket, but I didn't put it there! It says "Rosemary - Sept 14th 6PM" with a phone #...WTF? Guess I'll hafta call it, too...I hate mysteries! I don't think I was THAT drunk last night, but how the hell did it get there without me knowing or remembering it?

Yeah, & I don't even know anybody named Rosemary, except for my next door neighbor, who happens to be in her '80's, & I know for a fact that she wasn't anywhere near where I've been lately...

A mystery, for sure!

I'm not sure I wanna call it. What if I made some sorta promise to somebody? LOL!

On a more serious note, me grandson goes in for a follow-up tomorrow. I hope they can make some sorta adjustment on this shunt, cuz he's still blowing chunks occasionally. I can tell when it hits him, & it's either the heat or the sun that does it to him, but damn, I hate to see him feeling bad like that!

Wish us luck on that...

Yes sir.
I will do more than wish luck, in my own way.
I worked pediatrics for a long time, until the stresses of trying to manage
employees took it's toll. There is little "work ethic" in healthcare, epecially long term care.
My point being my heart goes out to the little ones whom suffer.
