I don't know either. maybe it's just my love of nature?

I'm editing a video right now from yesterday's gig at festival. It was called celebrate Catawba.

http://www.celebratecatawba.com/

It was actually a pretty frustrating gig. I made VERY little. I had about 5 folks that were all about me. They were very responsive and seemed awed. Then they left after 4 songs. Then it was very little response. Just pockets of interested folks. Very hit or miss. It was set up weird. There was a front porch on a building where the music was supposed to be. Then around back was a parking lot, basketball court, then a huge open field where all the vendor tents were. So I pulled around back and set up in the ranchero. It was scorching and I had no shade but I was close to the people. Maybe 150 people we there. I did have some folks come up and tip and compliment me. And one guy got my info to come play at his house for a get together. So that was cool. At least I shot video and caught a few keepers to post to youtube. :D

I'll start scouting some venues. We need to start scouting some ourselves. There's a number of different fairs that might work. One is Old Shawnee Days, a very well attended event right up the street from me. We played there years ago. It's at the end of May-beginning of June. Have you got a promo pack or promo website people could log onto? Some of these events you need to promote NOW. The Lenexa Barbecue Battle is another well attended event that we played at years ago. I think that's in the early Summer. I don't know if the American Royal has any bands play there, but it's a HUGE event. I need to get dates on all these events and contact information. There's also some county fairs in the surrounding counties that might work as well, don't know which ones happen in Spring. I'd love to find a regular bar for us and have that option available for you when you come out. I've got to get my nose to the grindstone.

Very Cool Paul. Playing in the back of a '72 Ranchero - oops I almost said El Camino.. Your song sounds like something that Metallica wished that they should or could have done.. Good Stuff!!
