Anybody here like pure vocals, with lots of harmonies?
I posted "Out Here" with vocals only; lots of voices . . .
.
It seems to turn the song into a different style of music, but the song works with or without the instruments.
Both versions are posted, for comparison.
:)
What do you guys think?

Thats pretty good RM.
I like a good harmony. Not as much as I like bangin my head, but hey it's all music is it not?
I suppose you guys remember my post about my friend Kyle, the fireman who got killed this year.
He was quite the singer, and did the barbershop thing.
Thanks for that horse of a different color. :D

I love acapella. I liked your recording, but I have a critique if I may. Your harmonies aren't as "tight" as what I llkie. At times, one or more of your harmony voices lasts longer and starts earlier than your melody voice. A little tightening up and I think I would like it better.

Just my 2 cents, but I like the style and song!

There's an interesting thing about the tightness of the harmonies.
I recorded each voice one track at a time, and I muted all the other tracks while doing so.
But, yeah, a voice or 2, here or there, lingers an extra 1/2 of a second or so . . .
Hey - I guess that those guys were just more emotional than the other guys, eh?

Wow. I couldn't do that. That is talent, for sure. I would need a reference voice to be able to hit the appropriate harmony!

I disagree about the tightness. It's ABSOLUTELY AWESOME just the way it is. Imperfection is a beautiful thing. It sounds more spontaneous. Alan puts those little spontaneous laughs in here and there. This sounds very 60's to me, lyrically especially. Great work as usual Alan. You've got AWESOME talent! :D

After listening again - I'm split betweem tightening up the vocals, or leaving them alone . . .

Hi RM.
I really liked this. I saw it as a background to a TV show for some reason, the sort of thing that has you humming while taking in images.

Very well done indeed!

I dunno. It'd be really impressive if it was tight, ya know? It's cool as it is, but I think tighter would be better.

I think Phil may have a point, I mean it feels good to me from a creative veiw point. Yet the average joe wont see it that way, will they?

That's a pretty "spacey" tune, RythmMan! (but very cool)
I like it acapella.

My oldest son has been a barbershop devote for many years, singing in chorus and quartets. He got me into the genre a little bit. I especially dig "The Gas House Gang"

check 'em out! :)
