Man I used to go see the Dave Mason Band a lot in the mid 1970's in 75 & 76 I saw him 3 times. I had forgotten about him untill a few years ago when a friend that also liked him died and that got me to thinking. So I looked him up on YouTube and he has a lot of video's on there. I personally like the older video's. One was taped on the Midnight Special anyone remember that show? Anyway he is still going I think, some of those videos looked kind of new. Besides a few extra pounds that he has gained he looks good. Do any of you know any rescent info on him?

George, Dave Mason used to be in Traffic (the band) he had a string of hits in the 70's You And Me And We Just Disagree was one he also did a kick ass version of Only You Know And I Know, Also he had a song I really liked called 40,000 Headsman. He was never a super group or any thing like that but did manage to stay in the charts thru the early 70's to mid 70's. he was big into his 12 string guitar and big harmony vocals he could definately rock but some of his music you might call light rock.

Aw hell yea, I remember now.
Man I havent thought about that dude in years.
When I was in my early teens, my bedroom was a closet.
Dont laugh man it was tre cool. Was two small rooms. One was a 1/2 bath my Dad opened up into this big square closet. I had my own door into the garage / outside. Dad built me a bed into the wall, and a contoured desk top. No window though it was damn dark, had this little trasisiter radio, and a tiny kerosine lamp I bought at a garage sale.
I would listen to rock on the FM all night.
One thing though, as a warning to any kids whom may get a bright idea.
NEVER, cook miniature marshmallows over a kerosine lamp.
Those were the days man!! :D

Yeah Dave Mason...used to listen to his stuff long ago, a friend had a couple of albums that had some good tunes on them. Never got to see him live, wish I had. Can't think of the name of the tune I liked best.

Here is one of my favorite Dave Mason tunes.

An example of a great, simple song , excellently crafted, well played and nicely sung. (I still have some functional Dave Mason cassettes that I play in my truck.)

If I'm not mistaken, I believe he played the acoustic guitars on the Hendrix version of All Along The Watchtower.

I had to ressurect this thread. I remembered reading it just before I was leaving on a jet plane to Ohio, nearly a month ago. When we arrived in Ohio, I saw a poster about the Streetsboro Street Fair. Dave Mason was one of the guest performers. I flew home the day he was to perform but I there was an excellent but briedf bio on him in the paper. He was recording a CD in the same building where MJ was recording Thriller. He asked Michael to sing on his CD and Michael just said "OK". He also worked with Jimi Hendrix. There was a lot of information on him. I would have gone to the street fair if I we had left a day later. Whodda thunk it? I am going to see if I can find that article online.

Here it is. What an education you guys are giving me.
