I've heard "We're Only In It For the Money" but it's been a while.
I'm not sure about Freak Out.

I've got the "Shut Up and PLay" series on vinal. I bought it years ago and never even listened to the 2nd or 3rd album. I liked some of his solos but I don't recall likeing that album much.

I thought "Rat Tamago" or "Yo Mama" from Seik Yer Booty had some cool moments for FZ solo/jams.

I liked his title "Variations of the Carlos Santana Secret Chord Progression". "Evil Ways" I think.

Ever seen "200 Motels"? Flo and Eddie + Ringo.

Cheers,
Matt

haven't heard that much of him, but do love joes garage... central scrotinizer -cracks me up. cpl other tunes I like too but am not familiar enough to name them yet. Only recently started listening... that one song about 'she put a dooby brothers tape on.... I had a roger daltry cape on' -love the orchestration of the 'falsetto voices' in that.
All in all he is starting to become one of my favs... only recently tho. I uses to think he was dumb until someone explained to me that most of his stuff was sort of a backlash against the overproduced sound of the erra. With that frame of ref I really started getting into him!

I think that's the first time I heard Vinny Colutta. Another incredible drummer. I saw him with Robben Ford in 86. Robbens another great player.

oooh, yeah. ford is awesome. very much like him. very much agree that zappa is no guitar hero, but his creative streak is matched by no one I know. oh yea the song I was quoting was something like
"carolinas hardcore x2C?" love the little voices in back... funny but very well done.
