y'know philby, I'd have to agree, from the classical I occasionally listen to the keys of A G and C are all cheesy to my ears but a nice piece in D or E usually picks me up (or it could be that I'm more inclined to those tones as a bassist)

I prefer to sing songs in F#. We only do one song in F# however. Maybe we shold play all our songs in F#. Or maybe we should scrap our entire repertoire and only do cover tunes in F#. I'd say most of our tunes are E, G, or A. We've got a few in D and a few in C, one or two in B. It doesn't really make any difference to me. I never really paid attention to which keys sound "happier." There may be something to it though. I'll try and take note which of songs make the audience "happier."

Writer this is on the nail. Have you ever noticed or listened to advertising speech? Always, but always the tag is the last note in the voice and it is always a deeper tone.

Some years ago back home a study was made regarding people who were listened to. The results were almost conclusive. A LOWER & slower voice would always be heard.

I guess this is why we hear the entourage of disclaimers is a fast and high voice eh?

Thats one reason my band plays in D standard and D flat standard.
D somehow (I cant quote the music theroy word for word) is the most melodic (Concert D I should say) key to play in and can even blend in with most white noise (thus canceling all other resonations.) Ill look for the theroy and post it.
