Howdy howdy howdy.
No not much, oh wait, yea Craig is back on line, and we are in anticipation of his release of new music.
And Paul is gaining more and more popularity and showes in his home area. (I am praying for ya Paul)
And I am experimenting with some added fx for my lead solo riffs.
And it's two degrees hotter than hell in Texas, but I dont guess that rates as new.

OK..if I knew who Craig is..I'd be all over that in anticipation. Same goes with Paul...need to learn who these people are.

As far as weather goes...MICHIGAN SUCKS!!! People here think if it breaks 70, hell has risen and A/C's are running in over-drive. I'm living in a "retirement community"...you'd think these people...whom are all pretty old, would have thin skin and think that 70 degrees is still cold...but no....they all have me confused...

I wanted to ask you something...you do Christian rock, right? I'd like to try to write something in that category...I'll be asking for your advice if that's ok. I like to challenge myself...and that will be about as challenging as it gets for me.

Other than the same old stuff..my life is still in limbo. Finally get to see a neurologist on the 24th...if I can wait that long.

That's about it from the land of Michigan...

Craig is Craig Maxim. He's a Bandmix superstar if ever there was one. He's extremely knowledgable about music and has donated beaucoup time and effort to help Bandmixers who are less experienced in the music biz than himself. Those of us who have been pirvileged to converse with Craig are rooting for his new solo efforts to succeed big time, and most assuredly will do just that...

I second that motion, Bob. :D Craig is one of the best. Here is a guy that showed me a truckload of support when in reality, he doesn't know me from Adam. I wish him the best.

Joe and Bob,

Speechless.

And as you all know, that doesn't come easily for me. LOL :-)

Thank you for the kind words. Don't know if I deserve them, but I am humbled and touched.

Hey! I just tried out for my first band yesterday. :D Wish it would have been a bit more organized (wasn't given any songs to learn or anything, just showed up and then we just got some random songs together. Needless to say I wasn't at my best, lol.).

Congratulations on your first band audition. Most bands are not very organized I have found. If you found some potential there that may a good thing. If not, that's okay too. At least you gave it a try. If I audition for somebody I demand a CD of at least 10-12 of their tunes they ALREADY KNOW. I try and learn as much of them as possible then go and show up. If the band is organized and you're informed up front it'll help you get your act together quicker and give you a better chance of making a good impression. I'm sure there's more auditions in the future. Try and learn something with each new experience.

You know, you can ask me anything Debbie.
I am easy, and cheap!
If I were giving anyone advice on writing Christian rock, I would say that you must show the duality of Christianity.
The Law, and the Gospel.
Heavy on the Gospel, as we are no longer strictly under the Law.
When I write, the inspiration is from / in, the first person.
When I speak of sin it is my own, when I speak of redemption and the joy therein it is mine.
Not so different than what you are doing already.

Here's something Debbie.
Think of someone you know who is a great father, who deeply cares for and protects his children.
Think of a great doctor, who helps patients out of love for his healthgiving practice.
Think of an artist who paints beautiful things that bring inspiration and good feelings with his work.
Think of a great teacher that teaches with love and understanding to all students equally.
Think of a mother and her all encompassing love for her children.
Think of each of these and get a sense of your feelings about each one.
Now, roll them all together, call it God or Jesus, and write your song about the feelings you have for these people.
Or something like that. Get the idea?

Thanks kind sir. :) The ydid say that I had the best voice they heard so far. but knowing how stuff in entertainment is, they could have been lying. Got any tricks on how to keep from trying to shout over the music? I really couldn't hear myself cause they were so loud, lol, so it made me raise my voice waaaayyy too much to the point where I was basically just yelling. Ouch, haha. But I made sure to sing a little in between songs without all the guitar and drums drowning out my vocals so they can see how I really would sound like when I don't force it. Good idea?

But yeah, they had me try to sing one of their originals that I had never heard before, telling me to just go with the guitar. >.>
