George thanks for that. Glorify only what you want your child to emulate. Ive been having some personal issues along those lines and I needed to hear that from someone I respect. Thanks.
I will leave Michael alone.

And after all of the above man, brother man-very good valid points, I feel MJ is innocent to the accusation of molestation. They have been people accused twice, three times of other crimes, or multiple crimes, but yet they have been proven innocent. Yes I agree with you he was different, and I would raise an eyebrow, but I would not throw a stone, beause like a boomerang it might come back.
People get accused of the same crime everyday. And if going to the mailbox is wierd, then thats a basic right that is granted to all Americans. Yes I can see your points and all are valid, but raise an eybrow if you desire, but don't throw a stone, because like a boomerang iand t might come back.

That is profound.
Sentient Paradox wrote:philbymon wrote:I believe he was found "not guilty," which is completely different than being found "innocent." The "NG" ruling means there wasn't enough evidence to prove his guilt. That's all. An "Innocent" ruling would truly exonerate him, after his having proved the charges were false.
Same was true for OJ - innocence was not proved, but guilt couldn't be proved, either.
This leaves much doubt in our minds, doesn't it?
All I can do is hope he didn't do those things he was accused of. No one knows, unless they were there, & that kid still ain't talking.
I can't believe that the media has made such a big deal out of his death, though. He hasn't really done anything much for a long time, has he? Yet they are still talking about his death. It's way worse than Elvis or John Lennon, ain't it? Perhaps it's just cuz he was a guy with questionable character, someone to argue about?
Philby, that's one of the problems with court findings. There's no such thing as an Innocent verdict. It's either Guilty (we think there's enough evidence that you did it), or Not Guilty (we don't think there's enough evidence to put you away). There are no verdicts that translate to "We know you didn't do it."
Pretty much all I'm saying is, we don't know. A not guilty verdict doesn't PROVE anything, you're right. All it means is the jury didn't think there was enough evidence to prove guilt.
Should we just assume that everyone then, probably is guilty just because they've been accused?
People do lie. Money affects some people in odd ways. It causes some to lie, others to think they can get away with things like child abuse, and others seem to be able to handle incredible wealth with grace and dignity never being accused of anything questionable.
I just wonder, whether he was guilty or not, how productive it really is to speculate about it with nothing more than what we've seen in published reports. None of us were there, and we aren't the jurors, judges or DA's involved.
If he wasn't guilty, how does all this speculation affect his kids and his family?
If we WAS guilty, how does it affect the kids (now adults) who were molested? They have to live with it too.
I guess I just try to put myself in their shoes when I think about speculating over it. How would I feel if I were his child? How would I feel if I were one of the kids, and I really were molested by him?
I don't see anything positive coming of it for any of them, no matter what the truth is.
I don't feel this is same as OJ. OJ practically admitted his guilt throughout his life following that crazy trial. I have not heard one kind word spoken of him since he was found not guilty. And the victims' families have continued to seek justice. I have been a victim of abuse and I value my senses in this case. I will always feel that OJ got away with murder.
Remember the book "If I DID it" that was never released.
Likewise I am 95% certain of MJ's innocence. The reason I say 95% is I could be wrong. However, I have heard nothing but high regards for him by family and friends as well as acquaintances. I have heard a lot about his generosity and charitable contributions. I believe that his generosity and accompanied with poor judgement got him into a shitload of trouble that would not have happened to "normal" people. I work with many, many kids and in this profession you have to be very careful. Within the past 3 years 2 teachers who had been in prison because of molestation were released after their accusers recanted. This next experience does not involve a teacher but it is pertinent. Yesterday, there was a newspaper article about a man who met a woman on myspace. He met her in person and the "date" ended at a hotel where they went to have sex. Well, instead of having sex the womanl demanded $15,000.00. When he refused she ran out of the hotel screaming that he had raped her. Later it was proven that the acusations were false and she will be spending a few months in jail, herself. Now, back to MJ. I am not a fan of Geraldo Revierra but he said that he strongly believes that Michael Jackson was set-up.He is convinced that when MJ went through his last ordeal was for the purpose of extortion. Michael Jackson was very wealthy despite is finacial problems. Seventy squad cars were "required" to pick up Michael Jackson at his home to arrest him and to retrieve evidence of child molestation. This was severe overkill. I believe those cops just went there to get on the rides and scoop up doughnuts.( I object!!! your honor...witness is speculating...sustained. State only the facts ma'am...Yes your honor )
I also watched Matt Lauer's interview with Jermaine and the MJ that was presented wasn't one that would hurt a child. I just cannot commit myself to believing that he could do this.I believe that Michael went to his early grave knowing that he was innocent.

If you notice...most musicians who make it are alone and not with groups...I am from gary indiana and I only knew jermaine...he was different and the backbone of the jackson 5. Most musicians on all of these post really don't want to make it. They join bands, get mad and quit....then form other bands. This is also the tale of the jacksons and the osbornes...I perfer not to really be in a band...I freelace...and I am better than most of the musicians I come across, musically and business like. After trying to put a band together with making rehearsal space, contacts, auditions, song list, people...I quit. I can only fathom a piece of what MJ went thur. You can't go higher than MJ....that scares alot of people in all walks of life..........
