or maybe contemporary folk?
here's a direct link to the player on ezfolk for "Shallowtown". It's the only one that loaded due to my lame ass wireless connection.
I wrote it in 06 and it's about a place near anywhere.

Good song, Hayden. Doesn't remind me of anything else at all...totally original piece. On the artwork, is that guy burning his guitar for warmth? Poor bastid! :)

I don't like to classify any song as to what genre a song is. This is an excellent tune. You might want to try a different version where you play it exactly like you did for about two minutes then have a full band come blasting in to dramatically finish the song. Sometimes I hear a song and I feel it leading into something explosive. It stands alone great, but it's got a lot of possibilities for further development...

Very nice just like it is Hayden.
But you know, ol Bob may be onto something.
Yes sir that song begs for an explosive rockin close.
BOOYAH !!

Kinda Folk meets Pink Floyd.
.
I wouldn't change it, though; it's good like it is.
If I wanted to do something additional with it, I would add bass, and a bridge to make it longer.
.
.
.
BTW - in reference to psychotic friends . . .
.
1 out of 4 Americans is mentally unstable.
Think of your 3 closest friends.
If they seem ok, then you're the one!

LOL RM, my bandmates have already made that pretty clear.
Seems just about any group of performers need a nut job for "comedy relief". I seem to fill that role without having to try very hard. 8)

Hayden I wish I could hear the Vocals a lot more. I'm an odd bloke, I often play to voice, mix, bass and all sorts really. Basically a feel.

Anyway now that I (Think) I am up and running again I'll use this and see what I can do with it as regards drums/feel/something.

Nice tune bloke.

No worries Hayden, we are human!
Hope you are feeling better now?
I'll get it on file and then do something with it in my personal blender.

You have to note that I am but the learner my good friend, nothing else.

Keep well.

Chippy.
