ZXYZ wrote:Why does everybody have to sh*t on the "white man"? Is EVERYTHING our fault?? Especially stuff that happened over 200 years ago!?!? I wasnt even born yet! You look white, Bob, from your pic ..are you taking responsibility for this mess that we're in?
We are ALL responsible for the mess we're in. This government is out of control. The destruction of the wetlands is our responsibility. The extreme fluctuation of the water table (particularly in Florida) is ALL our responsibility. Yeah, I'm white. My grandparents are from Russia and England. You could say for a fact that I'm not from around here. My wife is one half native Mexican Indian, which makes my son 1/4 native Mexican Indian. We keep having these threads on here about this worthless government of ours. I hear about it ad nauseum on talk radio. We need to get back to simplicity. Why do we have to have EVERYTHING decided by lawyers? Why do we have to have EVERYTHING laden with red-tape? We've got too damn much of EVERYTHING. We're an astonishingly GREEDY society. I look at how simple and EFFECTIVE native cultures were and how we bludgeoned them to death. Think what was lost. A musical friend of mine is a native American. Passed down through generations was a natural substance used by the "backward" medicine men to treat all kinds of skin conditions. One of his relatives had incurable melanoma. Apparently they used this on her skin cancer and it disappeared. They tried to get our "modern" drug research companies to take a look at this "quackery" and they REFUSED. Any revolution in this country should be a step BACK where people deal directly with each other and we don't need to run everything by a man in a fancy suit...

I hear ya San. I really am curious though which diseases we have today or yesterday, that were indiginous and which ones were imported. For instance, the STD's, which ones were the indians already dealing with and which ones were known to them. Was it the flu that killed many an injun? And so on

Anyhow, one of the points made by FB is kinda about the advancement of culture. With modern technology and knowledge, we keep trying to find harmony with the environment, while the indians already had achieved this state. Then again, without things working out the way they have so far, we wouldn't have electric guitars either :)

On the greed, a cure for anything or an efficient car doesn't make these gigantic established business and money, so the ideas are squelched. Can't realize justice without bucks and a pricy lawyer, while at the same time the law prevents true justice and honor from really being served. It's about the letter of the law, not justice :(

Ahhh I'm rambling. I'll stop now.

And you'll notice that since fines are much stiffer and they're really tightening down on so much, people aren't breaking the laws as much, I know I'm not. I'm talking about stuff like speed limits and drinking and driving and things of that nature. So, when not as many people are breaking those laws, the justice system isn't making as much money, and so they raise fines even more and come up with more bullsh*t laws. They could have the cops going after bad people instead, but that involves danger and it's easier to make a hundred bucks off of someone not wearing a seatbelt. Or a couple of thousand off of someone who's had a couple of beers after work and driving safely home. Don't mess with the crack houses. Those crazy bastids'll shoot back. :?

I see a $500 fine for jaywalking in the near future.

Yes, I am no longer an advocate of altered states as it were, but I never knew of any potheads causing problems or hurting anyone (except themselves)
What good does it do to put some guy in prison for eating too many M&M's ?
Now the fluckin crackheads. Shoot those cacksackers on site.
They aint nothing but trouble looking for a place to land.

The reason pot is illegal has NOTHING to do with the law. The hemp plant can be used for a myriad of good things: medicine, fuel (the entire hemp plant burns wonderfully hot), textiles (clothes can be manufactured with it), even in golf discs (some golf discs are now being manufactured with various plant products). The pharmaceutical industry is the primary roadblock to legalization of pot. They would stand to lose billions of dollars in revenue if pot were legalized. I heard that smoking pot is a cure for muscular dystrophy among other many health benefits. The fact that there's hundreds of thousands of inmates in our prisons who did nothing but possess and use pot for their own recreation is an ABOMINATION. Did you know that alcohol is a factor in about 50% of all murders in this country? Why is it legal and pot illegal? Again, it's industries hiring men in fancy suits who keep pot illegal. This is why we need to get the damned lawyers out of our private lives as much as possible. We need to look at our problems and solve them in a SENSIBLE fashion, and that fashion first and foremost is to REDUCE costs wherever and whenever we can. A HUGE part of what we pay for EVERYTHING is lining the pockets of men in fancy suits...

EasyKill - various flus, skin conditions, cancers, anthrax, even the plague existed before white ppl came here. However, their disparate communities kept most diseases from taking over until the new guys came to town with whole new diseases that spread rapidly & easily. Yeah, the white folk got some of those "old time" Injun bugs, but they were much easier to contain than the newer strains of disease that had never before had had the chance to grow & kill the indigenous ppls.

In addition, while the indigenous ppls were coerced & persuaded to give cures, & even gave away free cures, the white folk actually HAD no cures for much of their own, & in some cases, as we all know, they purposely spread their evil bugs once they found that the red ppl were susceptible to them.

Scurvy existed throughout Europe, esp with sailors, & the cure, a la vitamin C, was actually stumbled upon before the settlers came here, but alas, vit C is hard to come by on the open seas, but at least it ain't catchy...

Just got back from a really long back-packing trip - we had fire, fish from the lake, and a few pots and pans. I am sooo glad to be back to indulge myself in the complexity of a a warm shower and a toilet. :!:

Now wait a minute, here! White guys brought us electric guitars, amps, transistors, tubes, plastic picks, banjos, violins, bass guitars, keyboards, drum hardware, stomp boxes, turntables, cars & trucks - the tools of our trade! It ain't all bad! I also am quite fond of my air conditioning, the tv, computer, garbage pick up, chain saws, grocery store, DVD's, CD's, naugahide, nylon, pocket combs, shampoo, dishwasher, electricity in my house, batteries, lawn mower, battery-powered marital aids, telephones, cigarettes, tonka trucks, telephone books, coffee bean grinders & coffee makers, beer, wine, whiskey, brandy, gin, vodka, high heels, CT scans, jets, trains, velcro, motorcycles & ATV's, RV's, fishing rods & reels, glass windows, reading glasses, the apple as we know it, ice cream, cheeseburgers, refridgerators & freezers, the Sham-Wow, radios, balloons, lava lights, strobe lights, camera phones, digital alarm clocks, & the cure for athlete's foot. (I'm not entirely sure that all of this came from white ppl, but I think we had our grubby little hands in much of it...& I like it!)

What's the cure for athelete's foot? I've never found anything to do the job. Yes there are things that can help you live with it, but since the cure for polio, has anyone cured anything? That's right a big fat no --there's no money in it from the comeback

Use any of the over the counter antifungals for athletes foot. If you dont see and feel a difference in three days change to the other type.
Dont go by brand, read the active ingrediant.
1/2 strength H2O2 will work as well as silver preperations.
Main thing change your socks 3-4 times a day and keep your feet dry.
I had a buddy spray his with lysol. We could hear the scream for miles, I dont recomend it, but it worked.

WTF Bob? I'm sorry to rant buddy, but I really have had it up to here with being crapped on for being north american and white. Bob, do you have native blood, and a chip on your shoulder, or are you white with a sense of guilt for what your ancestors did? You know I just try to get by one day at a time. I have enough goddamn problems to worry about in the present tense without having to hear about my "raping, and pillaging" great great great grandfathers.
