The "Secret Stalins" are really not that much of a secret. It's the huge corporations that want to rule the world. They are doing it by using all the world governments for their military. I'm sure that they are promising these government puppets special places in the hierarchy, but if they ever get so big that they can just have their own military, they won't need the poor dumb bastards anymore. Then we'll REALLY be in a world of hurt.

Congratulations: congress has just sucked up to the whole world.We are facing an energy crises because of cost.In the effort to stop global warming,it will be too expensive to put up any sort of energy plant that burns fossil fuels.
China is putting up hundreds of coal plants, they have tremendous coal reserves as we do.But they are not going to put up any more crap from O.P.E.C.,or the rest of the world for that matter.
We have an energy crises going on here due to cost.Instead of focusing on this major problem we are being told its healthcare. B.S.Its the banks.B.S.Its overspending,B.S.
Are we going to have to go back to a time when the major source of energy was slaves, to sow the the fields, to push your car,to power a generator so you can play electric guitar. Not me,I don't want to see that.
The American people just got sold out and they don't even know it.

the only problem I see with government healthcare, elergy, etc.. is just that the corporations have seized our government. ANY politician who doesn't play ball is ousted (Spitzer?).

The best and cheapest electricity I've ever seen was run by the county. The best cafeteria food I've eaten came from a subsidized kitchen, and was less than half the price of "for profit" cafeterias. The best books I've read came from the library. I learned how to read, do math, and understand history (although a skewed version of it), but I basically learned HOW to learn... all this because of "socialist" policies...

The world can't handle any pure form of "ISM"... we still haven't realized this (as a society)??

We almost deserve the failure that becomes us.

Capitalism/democracy in it's purest form is destined to fail. It's based solely on two factors: greed and consumption. The planet can only handle so many people and has only so many resources.. eventually there will be massive starvation and disease from overpopulation.

Socialism/democracy in it's purest form fails because the state runs all major utilities and services. Without competition and motivations to keep standards higher, the system will slowly break down and fail the people.

The ONLY solution IMO would be a shared system, where the state runs a non-profit utility or service, and private business can offer a more premium service for whatever they want to charge.

For ANY system to work though, we need corporate and special interest groups OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT. Until we get that, it doesn't matter WHAT form of government you THINK you have... our government is being run by greedy CEO's and stockholders, who, quite frankly see you, me and most people on the street as stupid inbreds who serve no purpose except to mow their lawns, and live in servitude by way of excessive taxes and fees.

I do have one queston though, how did you determine the true cost of that subsidised meal?
With beaurocrats involved, you may have paid $5.00 for a meal that cost society $100.00 to set in front of you, and I figure some of that tax money came from your pocket as well as mine.
When I buy a sandwich from the mom n pop store I keep my money in circulation to the betterment of the whole society. Not just the few who are privi to subsidy. I pay a lot in property taxes, and struggle to meet my monthly bills, yet my kids have never qualified for the free school lunch, that I paid for. So I guess that lunch was not so free after all.

A professor is giving a lecture on socialism he announces at the end of the lecture there will be a test related to the lecture next week and that everyone should study. The following week he gives the test promply as forwarned but gives everyone in the class an F some of the students come up to him to express the unfairness of it all. Some of us studied real hard and some didn't study at all yet you gave us all an F. To which the professor replied congratulations you have just had your first encounter with socialism. Beleive me when I tell you, you don't want the state running everything. The state is the most wasteful entity I know of. You see I work for the state
