A lot of people never have so who is your top 10 and why?

My number one is Shawn Phillips because of the lyrics, his voice. In the 70's I went to one of his live shows and he did things on a guitar I though were impossable and he never did that stuff on any of his albums.

Genesis.
Because I think they are the best live show you'll see anywhere. (I'd love to see them write older stuff again).

The Police
Excellent drummer of course (is he still with them? Copeland).
Great songs Mixture of rock/soul/Reggae

The Specials:
Fantastic live act - lose weight dancing music

The Who:
Obvious reasons.

MotorHead.
Gimme Lemmy can bring any house down to the ground

Marrilion.
When Phish was there. Great band, good soulful stories

The Prodigy:
Excellent upbeat music, fantastic live.

I love Classical Music.

Frank Sinatra
Just about anything he did but I remember Stars particularly. I don't have any of his albums anymore. They were destroyed when they got too near a heater.

I dunno? I like one song from any album I've heard. These are just random names since I like so much stuff, it doesn't matter what genre it is at all. In fact I was out dancing 3 nights a week in the old days. Not propping up a bar in the background.

In the 6th grade, at Ft. Rithcie, Md., another Army brat and I entered the school talent show. The song I chose to do was a Beatle song I believe it was...called "Yesterday". I was on piano, and he sang. We didn't make try outs. To tell the truth I'm glad we didn't. We would have make a mockery of the Beatles.

Man, when I was a kid I WORSHIPED those guys! The Beatles were the bestest band ever, imho. Nothing they ever recorded sounded alike. How many bands do you know of like that?

I would have killed to be in a Beatles cover band, many years ago, until I started doing my own thing. They inspired me more even than my own parents & friends & teachers.

Now I'd much rather do Phil Montgomery music.

BINGO! Maybe that's why I strive so hard for diversity.
I mean they did metal, punk, trippy, spoken word, pop, country, old jazz, big band, etc etc etc

The first record I bought was "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" in 1964. I believe the 45 cost $0.67 at K-Mart. Not sure I understand when people say they don't like them, I guess it's one of those things where it helps to have "been there". We still do "Helter Skelter" and it brings the house down every time. A guy at our Lagerhouse show said it made the hair on his back stand up when we did it.

Helter Skelter is metal. It is vicious. I love to play and sing that one.

My oldest brother really got into the Beatles and drove me crazy with them and, in doing so, turned me off from them at that time. In my later years, after becoming a musician of sorts, I learned to really appreciate them for the genius of their music.

The Beatles were soley responsible for me picking up a guitar in 1964 and trying to play it. (I could have sworn that it was 1962, but that doesn't add up?) They weren't heard of until '64 in the US, right? (The Ed Sullivan Show)

The U.S.A. started playin' Beatles songs on the radio around April or May of 1962. The first song played on U.S. radio was Love Me Do. The offical Single however, didn't come out until Feb 1963

If I said the Beatles were not an influence on me it would be a lie.
If I said I did not enjoy most of their music, it would be a lie.
But I have always been a bit of an outsider. And I just seem to not want to "glorify" anything that is wildly popular.
The Beatles for me fall into that catagory.
Personality flaw? Whatever.
