Hayden King wrote:X I just don't know how to take you! I'm sure you get frustrated and need to vent just like the rest of us. The people on this site and forum are all class act's IMO and should be treated with respect; you seem to working toward that now.

If you'll take the time to check out some of Neanderpaul's work on you tube, you'll find that he is an exceptional talent. Also to my knowledge he has never had a foul word for anyone on this forum before you!

If you need to vent, and have established yourself as a valid member of the community here (yes it is that) then We Can take It. and (I think I can speak for most on here) are quite willing to if it will help a fellow artist.

Now I will say Welcome to bM!

Guitar X wrote:Well we all have different opinions and that's a good thing.

Agreed

Guitar X wrote:The 2 songs you posted I did not care for.....they stayed in the same grove for the whole song....also it was entry level stuff.....

OK . It's pure pop. A Very tough genre to do well. Pop usually stays in the same groove.

Guitar X wrote:On the other side your first song on your BM I liked....it has a fun vibe to it......the solo section is minor penotonic rock lics which I still use but very little of.....there are so many other places to go on a fretboard......but that is just my thoughts.

Eh, that's cool. I've never had a lesson of any kind (drums, bass, guitar, piano, vocals, etc), don't know what key I'm in, and have never practiced a scale. I know those licks are standard and that particular genre Straight R&B calls for it. You did realize that was all live right? Nothing was prerecorded. Do you know what live looping is?

Guitar X wrote:I am not hear to put you down and if you can not except my appology that is what you chose to hold on to.

I didn't see your apology, and I am not one to hold a grudge... ever. If you want to join this fine talented group of artists jump on in and behave. You will learn a lot. All of us do. The young and old alike. I've seen many members grow and grow. I know I have. Fisherman Bob says after talking to you on the phone you are down to earth. Just work on trying to be that person in type. Bob is smart and talented and I trust his judgement.

Guitar X wrote:BTW...I grew up in the 60s not the 80s and my hart lies with bands like the Beatles and Hendrix,

Yeah I knew you grew up in the 60's. Yeah my favorites also are .....

Hendrix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9c6pvv1 ... annel_page

and the beatles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5srdE0MQ ... annel_page

Guitar X wrote:today I like Satriani. Is Satriani old and dated like you say my stuff is ?....I get lots of Satriani commits about my playing style and BTW....Satch and I are the same age and he is doing just fine.

Yes I think Satch is hardcore cheesy and dated no matter how talented he is. I will be mostly alone here on that. Gimme Rick Derringer or Ted Nugent anyday. For modern heavier stuff try Queens of the stoneage. Uberhip still plenty of testosterone. And by doing fine if you mean making money then sure he is. So is Brittney Spears. So did the spice girls. Money doesn't mean jack. Originality while still being good is what makes someone cool in my book. And like we agreed everyone should have there own vision of what is both good and credible.

Guitar X wrote:I did take the time to listen to your music on YT and you do have some cool songs but I feel the same about your style as you do mine....

Red Flag my man. I don't have A style. I have Pop, Hard Rock, Rock instrumentals, funk spoken word, creepy spoken word, A Capella, Rap, Piano and vocal, Guitar and Vocal etc etc etc. That is a huge part of who I am. That and the fact that I do it ALL live by myself. Man I covered Castles made of sand on Piano with nothing else.

Guitar X wrote:I am so sick of drop tunings that I hear that and just want put a rope around my neck....to me that is dated and so over-done.....

That could almost be an appropriate critique if it wasn't my only drop D and it's actually a half step below that and I only sang on that one. Yep I do online and local collaborations where I just do multiple vocals.

Guitar X wrote:and that being said at least you and I have something in common..... we don't care for each others music....and that is OK. But when it is all said and done it's realy just a matter of taste.....it's art....not everyone likes the same thing

Agreed.

So having said that welcome to the site. I look forward to learning from your experience.

If you want to know more of what my diversity is really all about check these.

This is an instrumental live loop , bass, guitar, guitar, guitar, guitar, and drums all live.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYtjbTH5 ... annel_page

Spoken word with freaky music designed to make you feel uncomfortable.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt2JIrYm ... annel_page

A Capella live looping while driving!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnoPxqSJ ... annel_page

And then pure pop.

Obviously to me diversity is where it's at.

Hey Neanderpaul, I wonder what kind of driving ticket a cop would give you for....live driving looping.....well he started with a melody line....then did another melody line on top of it.....then he did a 2 part harmony and to top it all he was playing with a looper....a global satalite and steering all at once.....talk about multi tasking.....jeeze !!

I am not sure what to make of you....I have met Satch serveral times and at his home studio his walls are covered in Hendrix posters....he even thinks of Jimi b-4 he walks out and does shows.

I will never be a Satch, Vai or any of those guys....I think of myself as a peoples monster guiatrist.....I only had one year of training when I was 9 ....that is 1965.....and I only got real out there as wild guitarist level a few years back when I formed the first Halfstep To Venus.... I now look back and can't beleave I play the s..t I play now....only through lots of practice.
Also I have hart....lots of hart...all that came in the late 70s when I lost my whole family in 2 years....I was pissed at god about that and lots of what kept me from offing myself was that guitar....no BS...I would have killed myself if that was not there.....it is hard for you to judge what I do with some short sound bites....I write pop instrumental songs and I steal from the best of them....The Almond Brothers, Jethral Tall, Santana, Jeff beck, Page, Satch, The Beatles....all those flavors are mixed into HTV
most sincere..........X

Hey Paul, I went to your YT page and saw that you favorited "tonight you belong to me".

We played a festival about a month ago. The first part of the day was kind of just uninteresting. The crowd seemed either bored or annoyed.

Then these 2 girls get onstage. One with a Uke, the other with a Djembe. These girls freaking stunned the crowd. And it wasn't so much that they were kicking so much @ss. It was more the honesty and playful demeanor the girls have during their set.

To top it off, they brought another girl onstage. This girl is a freaking KICK ASS drummer!! She reminds me a lot of Tommy Lee when she plays. Anyway, the other 2 girls hand her a shaker and ask her to sit in on a song.

The song?? Tonight you belong to me.

Anyway, here's a vid of their performance that day:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEVS86CNDB4

It was freaking classic. These girls kicked off what ended up being a kick ass show. Pebaluna raised the bar for the rest of the show. It just goes to show that you don't have to be technically refined to be entertaining. In this case it was the pure honesty of Pebaluna that stole the crowd first.
