I don't sing, and I don't talk. Just play the keyboards. Sounds a lot like ZZ Tops. Maybe I'll sing when my voice stops changing:)

See my A/V-

Interesting compliment. Do you have bobbing heads in your ride, and were they dancing to the music?

Thanks!

For the length of time it took to convince you to step away from pre-made loops and straight quarter notes, it'd have been nice to have heard stuff like this right off. You could have been well on to improving your skills further. Glad to see you've had a change of heart.

You are both right-Wasted Time and Scared of Heights.
But I am glad I kept coming back like the bulldog in the den of 5 Dobermans day after day to get my daily dose of "stomp ass."
And I say "stomp ass" with a southern drawl! You all may not of realized it, but for the sake of being mandolin:), violin:), modulin(sp) you have exhibited true Christen values. You drew out of me talent, that I didn't know I pocessed. Now everyday I'm like a little boy in a candy store! Thinking of musical stuff and experiments! And here I am up at 3:26am thinking up new stuff. How do I make up for lost time? But Cpt Scott-I do know why I never went airborne. (parachutes). Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

If you are playing guitar, I have some more cheats..

But not for keys.. I can't speak that language proficiently..

I am talking about keyboard keys. I found a site where it denotes the keys. I was wondering though, is their any difference between the notes in each chord, besides the obvious such as (fingering).
And I have also come to the conclusion that I need my keyboard in front of me to embed the chords in my mind. I have also come to the conclusion, that I can't sing, except for singing ugly like Joe Cocker. (You Are So Beautiful To Me). So therefore I am going to write songs for ugly voices. Maybe thats why I like the blues so much. You can have either a beautiful voice, or an awful one like me...but if the message is good...who cares?

Ah few actually can hear/understand what you are singing..

Blues done right can be done by people that sound like they are gargling raw meat.

You have a blues voice. Sing about anything that really upsets you.

I had a certain event in my life I don't wish to elaborate on..

I went to an open mic in the middle of nowhere and just played my guts out and sang like I was wounded mortally. I couldn't believe it. People were actually shedding tears, as if they thought I was going to "jump".

It was right then when I figured out that the blues can be an extremely important tool for creating emotion.

If I was producing you, I'd counsel you to start with a LA GRANGE thing if you can do it. From there I'd try to see who you sound a little like and exploit that.

Ultimately I'd push your saddest, tear-jerk, material and try to get you to be as empathic as possible. When they are crying, they are buying..
Never smile, wear dark clothes/brown leathers NOT BLACK, dark glasses in the dark and basically reduce the audience into a sad, empathic, mess.

If you got them to feel what you're projecting, you'd not have a cd left to sell at the end of the night.

It's been my experience that sad or angry sells easier than the rest.

You are absolutely right Capt- I had funny and tear jerking moments at the same time. I was married 7 years, divorced, and then remarried the same woman again on "Good Luck Rd' in Lanham, Md. Her mom paid for the wedding, but depised me, and her dad was a 1sgt, who I met at the airport in Germany like me either, but warmed up quickly. (Probaly cause I bought him a beer at the NCO club.) I was a Lt. I got out of the army as a Cpt. . I'll be looking for my ugly voice the next few days. The thing is you want to make it sound hound dog ugly, and not Nutty Professor ugly. Right now it's the Nutty Professor Ugly.

So far I have learned C7, G7, F7 and D7. C7, G7 and D7 Cpt Scott/ These chords entirely compose "I Try So Hard Baby" which is in my A/V section. Please provide me with your critique.

Never make yourself sound anything than what you are.

lol I like some of it. I think you need to study those 16 bar blues in B. The end there started to get interesting.

If you check that link I gave you to 16 bar progression, it's kind of like this.

Take your tonic or 1 note. I like B.

B=1, c=2, d=3, e=4, f=5, g=6, a=7 and the octave or 8=B

apply the progression..

B-B-B-B
E-F-E-F
E-F-B-B

or the equivalent

1-1-1-1
4-5-4-5
4-5-1-1

That sounds muggy though, like moth balls on your best suit.

Modify >>

B-B-B-B7
E-E7-B-B7
F#7-F7omit3-E -B-F#7--- de capo al fine

From there, you abuse it as you see fit. One chord an octave higher or lower, etc. Play it how you hear it in your head. Solo in the upper register/octave.

Now what ya going to do>? come on, don't waste my candle light..lol

Waiting for your next piece..
