The first power of music is sharing. I may not have alot , but if you want to download something of mine I consider it an honor. For personal use there isn't anyway to stop someone from copying material off the web, except to put up shortened versions.
Maybe thats why all the folks who can still play LIVE are so important :)

I notice you don't have a selection from The Writer, Chipster. Oh wait that's because he hasn't made any music. Never mind.

Not that I am advocating selling others music mind you.
Just seems a little silly to have copywrite music available for free public download.

My songs were posted as non-downloadable.

I'm glad one of my songs made the list; so - thanks.
:)
In lieu of one of my previous comments, here's something for folks to think about; a point about business, in general.
One of the best ways to attract new paying customers is to give something away for free.
Thnk about that in your own context, if you will.
.
The main problem for musicians who want to make money with CD sales, however, is that they are already giving something away for free.
. . . whether they want to, or not.
.
We shouldn't be giving too much away, however. If it costs nothing, then that's what people will tend to think it's worth . . .
.
Apologies to Chip for digressing . . .

RYTHM MAN I love your chops BUT it is so easy to " rip" music the minute you post it someone can take it down for personal use and not pay you a dime. It hasn't come up yet but the inet is public domain.
I'm goona " rip" one of your songs and post it on my profile to show you how easy it is. THATS WHY I WOULD RATHER JUST SHARE.Concerts or commercial use.....THATS A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY.
Be right back gotta work.

Wow! I am flattered Chippy, I wished I had seen this earlier I was doing some organizing of my site a few days ago and I took Solitude down, I will try to put it back up next week. We are playing out alot, as soon as I get time I will put it back up. It was a privelage to work with the musicians on that album. Those first 12 songs of which I think are 9 or 10 now since I reworked my site were with a band called Rare Seed they were really great musicians and writers. I did not write those songs I helped with the arrangement a little. I co-wrote the third verse in Room 325 and had complete freedom in writeing my guitar solos. I don't want anyone to think those are my songs. It was a band I played in, we did covers and originals and recorded that album in the fall of 1996. Actually we all have ownership of the masters on that album.
The last 4 songs on my site are all me wrtten performed and recorded
(my first attempts at home recording). More to come later in the Year after I am done with the headache of running this band and I get more time.

I'm a bit like that too Hayden because if you're not like that then there is no point in doing anything at all. I was trying to encourage other folks to listen to other folks stuff really, but also to marvel at others stuff and how different or similar it was/is too.

It gave me a boost anyway.

Cheers.

Chippy.
