Which offers up the question that if they cannot predict any better than you or I why are there so many adverts on TV for a specific weather man, his fancy screen tools, and his usual android appearance.

You know they get paid a heck load of money for something they mainly guess at

I agree animals know a lot more than we do.

Which is exactly what they SHOULD allow...all the hijackers that have plagued the airlines the past 30 years or more are essentially cowards, if they knew just one person on the plane was armed and ready, no planes would get hijacked. Same as burglars, muggers etc, they want unarmed, defenseless victims. Easy targets. A plane full of armed citizens would be the safest one on the planet...at least where hijackers are concerned, because they wouldn't even think about trying it. They do it because they KNOW nobody is armed and ready to defend the plane. And the government is working hard to keep it that way.

Your tax dollars at work...

Sorry, but I feel the need to disagree rather strongly on this one, Pete.

I read somewhere that at 30,000 feet, a hole the size of a DIME can suck an entire adult person right through it. Firearms have no place on planes. Tazers, however, I'm all for...or box-cutters, in the right hands, as it were. (Ooooh! BAD joke! )

Your information is wrong about the decompression curve. That is all holywood bullshit. It would take an emense hole say 3 ft x 3ft to open suddenly to suck a person out. And then the vacume is created by the air flow over the fusaloge. (thats how a wing creates lift)There simply is not enough pressure inside the cabin to lift a person. Bullet holes wont do it. This is a proven scientific fact. I have a degree and spent years working in compression and cryogenics. this public assumption would be laughable if it were not so stupid.
Nor can a .45 cal hole cause catostrophic structure failure.
Really neat facts of physics that emotional leftest like to ignore and lie about.

Then there was the 80 year old lady that they wouldn't let on the plane with her knitting needles....they were afraid she'd make an Afgan. :)

Reminds me of a safety meeting when I was with Mobil Oil.
Lady came all the way from Houston office to tell the gang workers who ride around all day in a truck full of big heavy tools including axe, machetie, brush axes and sledge hammers that the company polacy would not allow us to carry a pocket knife or a steak knife in our lunch box. We almost laughed her out of the building.
They should have been more concerned about me wearing steel toed boots.

We had some thunderstorms move through in the wee morning hours. Mostly went north of me, so I got to watch a cool light show over the mountains to the north. Did rain it's arse off for about a half an hour. My gravel road needed it. The dust was starting to get dust on it. :)
