Boy I appreciate all the advice on this subject. I've done a lot of shopping.
We are working on an acoustic set of our songs this month. I have decided to just play my LP clean through my little 15 watt Ibanez.
Sounded good in practice last nite, so what the heck.

I wish I had my ole Alverez guitar, I think their the best when playing just plain acustic sounds. You might check mundts music in Tyler, not sure though if they still sell them.

George,
If you could get Mr Mike to wire up that beer can for ya, I bet it would work!

(anyways, I though you were interested in an acoustic?)

Now, Sans, don't laugh. I was giving guitar lessons to a 9 year old and his parents had bought one of those First Act acoustics at Wal Mart. I checked it out and it played well and had a pretty good sound but was too big for him, so they went and bought a 3/4 size one. I gave the lessons at his house, so I quit taking my Kona acoustic and just played the full size First Act while he played his smaller one. I gotta say, if I was going to buy a first acoustic just to see if I liked it, I would pick one of these up. Don't know if they have an acoustic-electric version, but if not, the money you save would let you buy a nice sound hole pickup that you could put on another guitar in the future, and you'd have a nice guitar to give the grandkids when they get ready to play.

Hey now! That is no bad idea at all Ratsass.
We canned the whole unplugged thing for now. We really need to focus on getting tight on the 12 songs we have picked for our CD.
We are going to work on them in blocks of three.
Last practice was, well.........
You know how it goes sometimes.
