I don't know how the rest of you are doing in other parts of the country, but CRIP just posted that he had to sell his bike to stabilize his finances. NOT GOOD. NOT GOOD AT ALL... Things on L.I. HAVE GOTTEN a bit out of control...
When we bought our house in ,Smithtown, [15 years ago], the property taxes were $6000, a year. Now they are at $12000!!!!
If I was working a decent job, clearing a thousand a week , I WOULD HAVE TO WORK THREE MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR ,JUST TO PAY PROPERTY TAXES. IS THAT OUTA CONTROL OR WHAT?

Odd to find so many people, artists, musicians espousing politically conservative views.
I was in Radio/TV in Seattle for 10 years till being replaced by automation in 2006.
A liberal cess pool of people who don't have a clue what the average jo deals with.
I saw with my own eyes, stories come off the wire that dealt with Iraq or whatever...if that story portrayed the president in any light less than horrible..that story went straignt into the trash.
NOW...don't you dare critize "The One"..he's the new Messiah.

If it weren't for unions winning insane wage gains for UAW workers, then GM and Chrysler wouldn't be looking into the abyss of bankruptcy.
Eventually, the wages grow to the point where the product is priced out of existence because no one will buy it.
Ford, Toyota, Honda, Hyuandi..all built inside the US, told the Obamassiah to shove his TARP money up his ass..none of them are in trouble.
The government is going to run banks and the auto industry?
Can anyone name ONE SINGLE THING outside the military, that the US government has ever run correctly or efficiently?
Last year they had to put out to contract bid the running of the congressional cafeteria because they managed RUNNING A DAMNED CAFETERIA, to amass an $18 million deficit.
And that post back at the beginning was incorrect.
The US budget deficit when Bush left office was just under $400 Billion.
In four months, Obama has raised that to almost $3 TRILLION (a trillion is a billion billion just in case anyone wasn't aware)
Stimulus? PORKULUS.
How many jobs have been created? -500,000 in three months.
And their answer?
It's all Bush's fault...Excuse me?
The entire time Bush was in office, all we ever heard was.."doesn't matter how it got that way....it happened while he was in office (on his watch was the favorite catchphrase)..therefore it's HIS fault.
Now when Obama steps on his own pecker..it's STILL Bush's fault.

It's complacency my friend's. Pure & simple. I was bitching about and handing out brochure's about all o this crap over 20 years ago, and everybody told me I was just a "paranoid conspiracy theorist" and it was all nonsense; now they all watch it on discovery channel programming. I got tired of being called a fool and got complacent along with the rest of em some 10 years ago.
Well f**k that! I'm tired of getting reamed in the arse by a bunch of elitist backstabbing cowards who think I'm worth less than the dirt they use to grow the nutritionless chemically laden crap they sell me for food! I'm getting involved in letting everyone know the facts behind these people and I refuse to go down "going along with the plan" and becoming just another one o the self loathing sheep. When they come to take your guns from your homes it will be too late to do anything but shoot back. I believe the only way to avoid this insanity is to start raising hell with our representative's right now, and continue to do so until they realize that we know what's going on and we will not sit by and allow them to take away what our families have suffered to gain; our freedom to choose and be left alone to OUR LIVES the way WE CHOOSE and not to be expected to let OUR hard earned monies to be used secretely or otherwise AGAINST US and OUR families!
It's time to do what we all should have been doing our whole adult lives and start keeping these tyrant's and madmen in check. They will secumb to corruption just like most would if they know that nobody is watching, and that is exactly what has happened. We were all intentionally distracted by manufactured strife and entertainment until we just didn't see past that point. The economy rules in this system and they ruled us with that economy.
We were to distracted by daily burdens to notice that we kept going farther and farther into debt, but there was absolutely nothing to show for it except more loss.
If you want thing's stop getting worse (and it's coming like an avalanch) you had better start ringing that toll free ph# in DC or the White House e-mail and letting em know that your mad as hell and you will vote for not a single member of either party in the next election if head's aren't rolling over these criminal act's and PRONTO!
If your not willing to put forth that much of an effort to save yourselves and your childrens lives and future's, well then maybe they're right and we don't deserve better.

In the middle of all this mess SUDDENLY we have to get back to a national health care plan. The biggest reason why the world economy is in a mess is energy. 150 dollars a barrel. EVEN the Chinese are putting up hundreds of coal plants to say goodbye to OPEC. EVEN the tree hugging europeans are putting new coal plants. Here we are just worried about forcing a national health care program down our throats. Some one has to pay for it were is that money coming from? WE wont have it because we are to busy trying to pay for fuel.

I live here too and to my thinking it's all just clogged up with dirt.
Remove the dirt, and reveal what is really there and go on.
Americans are survivors in many ways. Sadly most of that has to do with the dirt that accumulates over a period of time in the workings of things here. From what I know of people here, most are clinging to the TV/News/Others.......... in the hope of better news. (Yeah you can shout now if you want?)
However I do think that things here are rife with people not doing their jobs properly, people scoffing at serious comment when comments are for the future for all to decide.
There is a claim in America. You can watch them make themselves overnight. They are like a machine and fill that void that we used to live in. So..............
If you are a Musician and looking to get acclaim you might be better advised at claiming one perhaps?

Wow. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only United States Citizen who thinks like that. Hayden, I'm with you 100%. I'd say "God Bless You," except we're talking politics and God doesn't belong in politics or gov't. The only thing I need gov't for is to defend me from an invading army of cheap, unskilled workers who are taking my job and to protect me from the overly greedy who don't want to pay me fair wages or benefits because it cuts into their multi million dollar salaries too much. This system has slowly gotten way out of control since the Constitution was ratified. It's long past time for we the people to take it back.

If we had the technology to go to the moon that long ago then we surely are at least a decade beyond the capabibilty to have converted to green energy.
There is less control over the masses with cheap readily available energy. The next step is our food supplies; the small local farmer has been nearly eliminated, leaving us reliant on foods shipped from other region's. Just look at how food prices skyrocketed during the gas "hikes" of last year. Next year many of the (smaller) producer's have decided not to plant because the "already set" prices for next years crops will be less than the cost of planting. That >89 can of corn may be $1.69 . That may not sound exactly shocking on it's own, but consider it along with the rest of your groceries... your $270 per month cost for your already discount brand laiden list just went up tonear $500.
(there's another 3 month's work for food alone)
If you have land suitable for cultivating I would strongly recommend that you do so! It may be too late in some regions for some crops but there are still many that can be grown. I would also recommend that if at all possible, you all get storable dried and non perishable food supplies; you can get a one year supply for up to four people at a cost of around $1000. Of course that would last longer for three people and double for two. It's not fine quisine food but if you also store some dried spices and herb's it wouldn't be bad.
