I like drum solo's as long as they are 30 seconds or less, anything over that sounds dis-jointed and not part of the song.

Ouch. I love drum solos when they are played in some sort of rhythm and in keeping with the song they are around.

I do however think both are dead largely until the comeback the the genre that helped them get noticed.

Not much point playing a solo (on drums) to the tune of some of the songs that are around now, so I tend to agree and disagree on that point RGM.
