Hello Johnnyrocker!! Thanks :D !!

Lansing is about 5 hrs or so from here  !! As the KIDD said in another post on here, if gas weren't soo much!! I mean, I'm even willing to drive a couple of hours if I have to for practices....but Lansing is a little far! Too bad I didn't still live in Grayling...... Lots closer to ya there!!

Don't know if you've checked out my profile or not, but I'm a vocalist! Duh!! I can play a little bass, and drums too!! And let me just say that you ppl that can play and instrument and sing at the same time make it look soooooooo easy!! But, I know it isn't!! First song I learned on Bass was Thunder Kiss 65 :P .... Could play it like the back of my hand, and could sing it like the back of my hand...... when I tried to put the two together it was like ssssslllllloooowwww motion  !!

Have u always lived in Lansing??

Hey LR.,[ Do you have a myspace site?] You could always get a karoke system. DJ etc. It pays a little more than splitting the money with 4 or 5 other musicians. I think the average pay for karoke, around here anyway. $150.00+ a show. Just thinking out loud Sis. It seems to really help, if the owner of the karoke can sing when doing a gig. Just a thought......Peace.

I agree... it would be nice to hear an owner who can sing and put on a good show. Fullfill some of a little stage presence???? BUT...??? (There is nothing like... A band behind you!)

HEY V&B,, & Steve....

Ya know, I have already thought of that!! :)

I'm really not much of karaoke person..... I know they've got some kewl stuff out there... I've checked it out.... It would be quite an investment just to get started..... In discs alone!!

I have all the equipment, even some lights... but, I don't have the TV monitor to display lyrics....so that would be another $$$.

I actually thought about just doing a show myself.... I'm capable, but it's like Steve said.....
There is nothing like... A band behind you!

And that is a BIG difference... the whole feel of everything!!
But, I have thought about it, and am considering it!! The karaoke versions of songs are okay..... but, it just reminds me too much of standing in my house, practicing with my tapes & CD's..... it's just not the same!!

Plus.....if you're not capable of composing all parts of music because you don't play an instrument: Guitars, etc.... (like me)....... it's hard to create something original!! I have books full of lyrics and ideas!! Have worked with some in the past..... but when you don't have anyone else to collaborate with....... those books of lyrics are kind of useless!!

I've had ppl wanting me to sell my lyrics.....
but, I don't want to sell them for someone else to sing!!
I WANT TO PERFORM IT!! - But, I haven't a band!!

So, I'll continue on my Quest :P !

Thanks for the thought V&B... much appreciated!...I have been pondering doin my own show for quite some time now.... but it is as steve said..........the whole feel of everything is just not the same w/out the "Band"!!

......and I'm rambling  !
