I don't think anyone ever intended MP3 to be a perfect technology, audiophiles like myself prefer vinyl and a good turntable. But MP3's allow you to share your music with a whole new audience that would never get to hear your music, so in that respect it's a good thing. I enjoy performing and the live sound but I love creating in the studio; I've recorded over 120 tunes and I still love the process.

Any suggestions of where one might obtain a stylus for a turntable?

Thanks Pete. I will try that.
I had hoped perhaps JD knew of a reputable sourse.
I have very little faith in the E net.

Hey, Sans. I've got an Aiwa turntable and needed a new stylus a few years back and got one at Radio Shack.

I had to do a long report and presentation on audio compression. Yeah, mp3 technology has come a long way, but it isn't perfect because of its compression algorithm. Higher sample rates help fix the problem, but as you increase the sample rate, you get less compression.

There are types of lossless compression which don't allow for parts of a recording to be lost (Hence the name). You've probably heard of some of these: FLAC, WavPack, ALAC (They're what I can remember, there are more). With these filetypes though, you get less compression, so lower storage. It's a tradeoff.

ALLRIGHT ,I just tried fifty mixes to bring out the song I put up last week. I tried everything i could to bring up the littlle stuff to make it sound like a wave file. CANT BE DONE .... ROUGH MIX SOUNDS MUCH BETTER . YOU COMPARE.

AND yes I know the drums suck, and so does the Bass , but I 'm workin on it.

Real bass and drums ???? next week.

Just a quick fix is to not boost freqs below 60hz and maby add a little bump on the bass at around 84hz. Their is a lot of stuff going on below 60hz and its not good. Try to match the bass drum at -6db and the bass guitar at -6db and slowley bring up the guitar till it sounds right. 2nd opinion pls.

I just completed a digital recording. I am the only humnan in the recording. The one part that I love is being able to hear myself breathe before playing flourishes or long tones.

I guess I miss my mastering suite from CUBASE from 11 years ago.
I forgot how important some of those tools were.
This company seems to have decent$30 dollar solution for P.C . users , Pertaining to MP3s
I'm gonna check their mastering soft ware tommorrow ,ozone 4, will let you know.
