Perhaps you said before and I just lack cerebral cortex to comprehend.

If Patti is so good (and from what you have shared with us , he is) how is it he does not have his own band?

Strategicaly speaking, if your goal is HaleAmano %100. Then answering this question is central to an understanding of the challenges you will face to get to where you want to be with HaleAmano.

YES!! Exactly Sans!! You hit the nail right on the head!

See, Pati is big in Hawaii. But he made his mark as a solo artist. He doesn't play any instruments. He just writes lyrics and sings. But he moved to Utah, and I guess there's not much in the way of Hawaiian musicians there, or maybe a lack of interest in musicians wanting to play it there. So Bonafide wrote the music for his CD. And before I joined this band Ryan agreed to be Pati's backing band. Which I understand. Pati is one of Ryan's heroes having grown up in Hawaii and listening to Pati on the radio. And Ryan felt it was good exposure. I do think Pati is a good singer and songwriter as well. And he can draw a good Hawaiian crowd at times.

BUT..At what point is HaleAmano going to make it's mark in the music world if we don't focus 100% on our career?? You know, originally HaleAmano was going to have guest people during our Pure Aloha set (we had 10 people on stage last year). But I argued heavily against it. It was our night to make our mark with our originals. And it was a success. Barely.. We would have done a lot better had we not worked for 2-weeks on Pati's set in San Diego.

By the way, I only made $60 for the San Diego show when all was said and done.. It wasn't promoted by Vizzun or Ruff. Was it worth it?? Did it really pay off for us?

I made the same amount when we played a sweet 16 birthday party last Friday in someone's house. So in a money sense, working with Pati just doesn't make it worth it to me. I could care less about doing it. I only do it for Vizzun.

The band is spread too thin when it comes to polishing our songs and writing new ones. Our Drummer Burt has been made to learn 30 freaking songs in 2-months. It's making him a nervous wreck! This was his first time playing (or more correctly, not playing) with Pati. So he wracks his brains and works his ass off for a week trying to soak in all of Pati's songs only to have someone else take over the day of the show. It's not worth the hassle.
