First , whether you love our president ,or not, he is the president ,and represents our nations highest Office. He must be regaurded with all due respect. What I don't understand is the math.
When our last president left office, it was said that we were burdened with a 1.5 trillion dollar national debt.
After this last bailout plan ,it seems we spent that amount in three months, Did I miss something.
1.5 trillion PLUS 1.5 trillion, doesn't add up.That adds up to 3 trillion, all of sudden the national debt is only 1.5 trillion. Any one send me a new calculator.
Wish I could pay my bills that way.

It does add up if you look at the whole process.
In order for a socalist government to remain in power they must have control of all aspects of the economy.
You start by nationalising the finacial industry.
You nationalise all industries that are "to important to fail".
You destroy all vessage of the free market system with government regulation and make it illeagal to produce anything not controled by the various govenment entities.
The only way to control a "free" people is to take away all their money and destroy all will to provide for ones self.
Welfare state is one step away from dictatorship.
You dont have to take my word for it. Study the history of Cuba.
Or France LOL

aww cmon..

Public schools are socialist
Public Libraries are too
So are parks and recreation
And also national forests like Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Appalachians, etc...
Even stocks and bonds are built on a shared risk philosophy.

Any "ism" in pure form is dangerous, I fear pure capitalism far more than pure socialism, although I'm certain both are equally as dangerous - remember the industrial revolution, and the immense profiteering on the backs of the poor and children.. most of those regulations are either gone or completely marginalized and full of loopholes.

And democracy? Wish we had it..

What we have is 'represenative' republic, which is a far cry from democracy and real freedom. If we're free, why do we have curfews? A uber strict drug policy? Constant goverment intervention into our private lives?

The greatest system in the world incorporates the best parts of socialism, nationalism, capitalism, and democracy, even with a twinge of libertarianism, and of course environmental responsibility.

Most of all, we need a policy of peace instead of policies that support torture and pre-emptive wars. Notice that we have a department of war, department of defense, NSA, CIA, SS, and dozens more that all operate on the ideal of conflict? Where's the department of PEACE?

Socialism? No. Facism is where we are headed.

Fortunately, I have faith in 200 million americans marching into DC and telling them bums to get out of congress right before we torch the building... and frankly, that's the ONLY thing stopping them from crossing the line.

But don't think they ain't dancing on it.

HAYDEN>> WHERE ARE YOU? HAYDEN COME IN PLEASE.
"PUT YOUR HEAD IN A HOLE YOU LEAVE YOUR BUTT IN THE AIR"
I' m sorry to even bring this stuff up, but most of it is starting to become not ridiculous but CRAZY.
I would love to go into the new MTA tax here in N.Y. ,NOT tonight.
What concerns me is the new tact that all the drug companies, the health insurance companies, all the in between health care providers are taking.
WE CAN'T BEAT THEM LETS JOIN THEM.
After the recod companies beat up NAPSTER, they realized ,in the end they were not going to win against I TUNES and AMAZON ETC. This why I bring this up.
THESE COMPANIES ARE AFRAID OF LOOSING THEIR JOBS TO THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. NEXT LINE. BETTER CLIMB IN BED NOW!
Socialized medicine works great ......UP TO THE POINT YOU DON'T QUALIFY!!!!! FOR THE BENIFITS YOU MIGHT NEED EVEN IF YOU CAN PAY FOR IT> HILLARY CLINTONS PLAN BACK IN TH E 90s WOULD HAVE MADE IT ILLEAGLE FOR A DOCTOR TO TREAT SOMEONE OUT OF GOVT NETWORK,
There's alot of snake oil going on here all of a sudden.
P.S. Much talk of ways to tax music downloads off Internet.
HAYDEN WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU , TOOK ME 4 HOURS TO TYPE THIS MUCH STUFF UP.
SANS AND KRAMER THANX, JUST FIND HAYDEN ,,,,, YOU KNOW,PUT YOUR HEAD IN A........................................................................

right now it's illegal for a out of network doctor to see a patient who is covered under medicare, or SSI, as we found out when my daughter had a 104.7 fever...

Her normal doctor stopped taking the benefits, so he refused to see her. The local clinic didn't take the benefits, so they refused. When I offered CASH, they informed me that it was against the law for them to see her because she had coverage under a plan that they didn't take....

So we took her to the ER, who denied to accept her benefits and forced us to sign a financial waiver for the costs, then the ER doc yelled at us for bringing her in (by the time they FINALLY saw her, her temp went down to 103.0 )...

I put her on my plan against SSI rules, and she recently went to the ER for a major seizure - which resulted in one ambulance ride, one ER who put her on life support, didn't know what to do and had her airvaced to chop in philly who controlled the seizure and kept her for two days of gruelling tests...

The Ambulance was "out of area" and they took her to a non-participating hospital, NOT THE NEAREST ONE EITHER, they took her to the hospital that participated with the ambulance service, when the closest hospital was in my daughters network and more equipped to deal with a seizure, so they basically put her life in danger over $$ savings and exclusivity contracts...

I got charged most of the ambulance costs even though my coverage is supposed to be FULL, cause of them being non-participating, out of area, got nailed for teh ER charges in the non-participating hospital, and got charged another ER deductable for the transfer, ICU deductable, percentage of the tests, etc...

And those f**k just announced a mid-year "open enrollment" where the benefits are actually getting WORSE and almost doubling in price... I already pay $230 every two weeks... guess what..

Now I have to drop our coverage and my family will be yet another statistic of americans who aren't insured and wealthy people will refer to us as a bunch of "freeloaders"...

I looked up my provider... IBC.. they only made $4 BILLION in PROFITS in 2007... I guess I can see why they are bankrupting me to stay in business...

Screw them all, I will live like the mexicans and just go to the ER every time I get a splinter. argh.

Our insurance industry sucks, is ranked among the worst in the 1st world nations, and we have the highest rate of uninsured citizens in the same group.

ANY change would be for the better.

Sorrry folks.. I try to stay non-pollitical, but sometimes I gotta let it out.

KRAMER,,,,
You would have had a major lawsuit on your hands if anything had happened to your daughter. They B.S.d you all over the place.
My GOD man, I hope your daughters OK.

Clinics are one thing, HOSPITALS ARE FUNDED BY LOCAL,STATE,AND FEDERAL MONEY.
FEDERAL LAW: THEY MUST TREAT ANYONE THAT WALKS THROUGH THE DOORS, INCLUDING ALL ALIEN POPULATION.
You ran into some deep B.S. Unfortunately when you under stress like that it seems thats when dirtbags know they can take advantage of you.

AND YES ,there needs to be a change with these insurance companies,I agree.
The point I was trying to bring up is ....WHY ARE THESE COMPANIES SUDDENLY JUMPING ON THE BAND WAGON ABOUT HEALTHCARE REFORM,,,,,
IN THE 90s THEY SENT THEIR LOBBY AND MONEY TO STOP MRS CLINTON
FROM CHANGING THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS.

This should cause concern IN ITSELF.

There is something blowing in the wind and we have to be careful not to stick our heads in a hole, we might wind up with something far worse.

I HOPE YOUR DAUGHTER IS OK .....I've got kids,,,,, Make you feel any better ,,,, my plan just went up a bit,,,,$1300 a month, not including what I pay out for my people...OUCH!!!!
YOU KEEP PLAYIN, ALLRIGHT ,MUCH APPRECIATED.

I'M SURPRISED TO SEE SO MANY CAPITALIST ON A MUSIC
WEBSITE.EVERY ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A GRASP OF WHAT IS BEING DONE
TO THE COUNTRY.THE MORE MONEY THAT IS PRINTED OR BORROWED THE
LESS IT IS WORTH.THE MORE PEOPLE THAT US ER'S WITHOUT PAYING THE
THE COSTLIER IT IS FOR PEOPLE WHO DO PAY.
IF HEALTH CARE WAS PLACED ON THE OPEN MARKET PRI-
CES WOULD BE DECIDED BY COMPETION MAKING IT MORE AFFORDABLE
TO MORE PEOPLE. I DO RESPECT THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT BUT
HARDLY CONSIDER THE MAN IN THAT OFFICE ANYWHERE NEAR ABLE TO
PERFORM THE JOB!!!!!!

I once worked for a company that had a subsidized cafeteria... best food I ever had from a cafeteria, and full meals for around $2-$3.

If insurance was run like that, we would have better service, better access to it, and higher paid doctors, nurses, etc...

The only ones who lose are the ceos and stockholders. I can live with that.

Faded now a bit. But anyway I think it was 8 or 6 stitches near my knee cost a company I was working for a grand total of $3000. (I think it was much more).

I take pain for the most part the cortisone however was something else! There was blood on the wound still as I watched the surgeon sow it up, bone was showing, it was a very deep cut.

I was royally told. "Your going to enjoy this experience" On entering. EXCUSE ME! Enjoy it? A$$holes.

Not ALL hospitals are government funded or susidised.
Not ALL hospitals have to provide care by law.
We have one privately funded hospital right here in my area. No payer sourse, no care.

Think its bad now, LOL. Wait till the new medicare medicaide guidlines come out.

I deal with this stuff as a matter of course in my profession.

Just wait. Mark my words,

"Sweeping healthcare reform" Yes, Just you wait and see.
