Why is it this hard to find a vocalist. Thousands of people are posting things on this website and it is rediculously hard to find a vocalist for our band. Why ?

Visit karaoke bars and listen to singers, anyone with talent introduce yourself to
Contact any vocal instructors (check big music stores for these) and ask if they have any star pupils
Put an ad in your local classified newspaper (American Classifieds for example) stating you need a singer for your band. Put the ad in the miscellanous section where people are selling just about anything. Thousands of people read those sections. Odds are a few of them can sing. (I've found singers in the past with this method)
Go see some of the local bands in your area, if you hear a good singer introduce yourself. You'd be surprised how many unhappy musicians there are, one may join your band.
There are other websites where you can advertise (Backpage.com, Craig's List, Community Musician, etc.) Bandmix is a fine websie but there's other good ones too.
Tell every person yu know you're looking for a singer. Somebody is bound to know a singer. Years ago I found the best drummer I ever played with this way.
Good luck...fisherman bob

It doesn't help that many people claiming to be a lead singer can't really sing. Over the past three weeks, I've listened to about 25 clips of alleged "singers", and found two to be actual singers. It's a tough void to fill.

Well, if I lived in PA..... I would check it out!! But, I live waaaayyyy too far away for that!! Good luck though!! Ya know, another way to see who all is around on this site, in your area is to search by your state.... you can see alot of ppl's profiles!! They may not all have music to listen to, but at least you'd have an idea where they're at and what they're about!! :)

Hey stareater.....did u check out my profile?? I know they're only cover tunes that I put on there, but.....do you think I can sing?? Just curious!

almost forgot too..... my brother has a profile on myspace.... if you go to myspace.... search for Twilight Blue..... the "t" is cut off on his profile, so, it's actually TwilighBlue...... BUT..... There's an original tune of his and another brother of mine....called SCREAMIN EAGLE.....

He put my brother Ted's version on there (which was the original)
He also put my version on there...... check it out if ya like and let me know what ya think!!?? :D

hey lady rocker,
checked your profile, here's some feedback whether you want it or not.
the good: that don't satisfy me... wow, yer a real joan jett... love it. nice growl in voice. impressive.
the bad: cumbersome... little pitchy, doesn't fit yer voice IMO
overal: pro quality voice on that don't satisfy me, can't believe you'd have any trouble gettin' a band w a voice like that.

Thanks for the feedback MMV!!

Really?? Didn't like cumbersome aye?? You're the first person I've heard that from!!

Really, on any of the recordings on my profile, the only one I felt turned out decent was "That don't satisfy Me".... we recorded those in a studio in Rose City, MI..... They guy didn't do a whole lot of tweekin' on the tracks....they're pretty raw really, but on some of em for some reason he tended to "smooth" out the vocal and take out the gruff - which really bummed me out, but when ya don't have control over the board, what ya gonna do??

I actually used to get alot of compliments on that song when we played out!! One time we played a jam that we were invited to.... So as a club owner could become aquainted with other bands, and all three bands that played there, played cumbersome.....and even the other guys in the other bands thought I sang it alot better then their own vocalist did!

but, I do appreciate your critisism, stung a little bit, but I can handle it :) !

I'll have to try to put something else on my profile.... don't want to deter ppl from wanting me to sing in their band!! I wonder if you would have the same opinion if ya heard me do it live??

Did you see the above post about my brother's myspace acct??
I would like your opinion on the original tune on there... check it out and get back with me  !

I will check out your musiccollaberation.com too!! Thanx!

it's only one persons 30second take on it... it just pales in comparison to the other song. I really thing if anyone hears that -your in. Your mix guy is over mixing on that song -if anything -IMO. he put chorus all over you. did a nice job on that song too, but the band mix on cumbersome is "not so great" IMO.
Again never take one persons word for it. overrule me. but that is my honest opinion.
I'll have a look at yer bro now... I'll get back to ya on one of these threads. IF YOUR GOING TO COLLABORATIONSTUDIO... CHECK "headbanger revised". If you've check my profile here you will have heard the other post(KRBlues).
talk to ya soon.
