And he doesn't even start to come on until after he lies down on the barricade fence and walks out into the crowd...whoa nellie..

I feel like throwing my guitar into the chipper.. lol

My buddy hated him, I felt strung out like I was out in the cosmic wind way too long with no food in my toothpaste tube left to nourish me.

Jimmy, not to give you sh*t, but you sound like my buddy. He automatically hated this guy, he played so well. Hell, I kind of dislike him, but I don't deny him...

And neither did the crowd.. They clapped so hard for him, I think some guy behind us broke a bone in his hand.

And if you don't get it by now, I don't think I can put it to you so that you would.

Even his stage antics/tricks were good.

Dang, did ya see his teeth? If I had teeth like that I could play BASS with 'em. He could eat corn on the cob through a picket fence! He's a pretty good Hendrix impersonator, but it's easy to impersonate someone else, you know, just learning and playing that one style. And usually it's because you really love the music. You can tell that guy really loved what he was doing.

Bless his heart he can eat an apple thru a picket fence! We have a saying down here in Texas "once the heart has been properly blessed you can say anything about anybody"

He came thru Memphis back in the 80s. I was running sound at a place called the Madison House. Thats been 20 yrs ago or more.

I would have loved a good veiw of his pedals. He had the authentic old Marshall amps. I think he did a good job of covering that, and like Haley said "My what big teeth you have!"

I had forgotten all about this guy. Its sad that hes playing at a garden party with familys there. Did you notice the little kid running away when he was crossing the fence.

Thanks for the old school stuff, I grew up digging stuff like Hendrix/Trower.

Yeah me too, John, I grew up on Hendrix and Trower. I had an old tape recorder that could play half-speed that allowed me to learn the faster licks and solos. As I mentioned on an earlier post I did a Hendrix tribute back in the 80's, and I've recorded several Hendrix covers - "Little Wing", "Burning of the Midnight Lamp", "Killing Floor", (and also Trower's "Day of the Eagle"). I'll post 'em.

Another *yawn* Hendrix-wannabe. Right on down to the right-strung lefty axe & teeth-picking & clothes.

A great performer. Very entertaining in a live setting, but to sit back & listen to? Eh, I'd rather hear the real thing than the copy.

He's okay, but I really have played with better. He's added some fun lil somersaults & such into it, & that's really all that makes him stand out to me.

I'd hafta hear more before I'd say he's great as a musician.

Jimmy I dont have any recordings but thru the years Ive played a lot of Hendrix and Trower. Day of the Eagle was always one of my signature songs, we still pull it out of the hat occasionally. We still play Fire, Purple Haze, All Along The Watchtower, Hey Joe but I dont know, I guess Im like you. I swallowed a lot of that music cutting my teeth and still listen to it on occasion, but I try not to dwell on it too much.

Brings back lots of memories of trying to learn licks on guitar, thats for sure.

I posted my Hendrix covers. I also recorded a cover of "Hey Baby" at a rehearsal but the sound quality isn't too great. Other cool one's we did included "Dolly Dagger", "Message to Love" and of course "Freedom".

The guy is good, no doubt. Doesn't impact me the same way Hendrix did though.

I've personally seen better Hendrix impersonators here in Vegas. I saw some dude here who was freakishly phenomenal at it. Looked a whole lot like Jimi too. Dude would even talk like Jimi between songs. It was crazy.

He would ask the crowd for requests. ANY SONG. And people would try to stump him with oddball Hendrix songs that weren't so popular, and the dude could not be stumped. He knew them all. Played them to a tee.

I actually enjoyed it a lot. You did get the sense that you were watching jimi.

Only better impersonator I've seen was this Ray Charles impersonator. He looked and sang EXACTLY like him. Even had people escort him on stage. It was awesome.

Vegas has the cream of the crop when it comes to impersonators. This is their playground. They can make good money here.

I saw Randy 28 years ago in San Louis Obispo Ca.I damn near lost my hearing! I've been a fan ever since He hasn't changed a bit. I just got finished plowing for 30 hours. I spent most of it listening to his tape with "Champagneand Cocaine" on it. Love this guy. Randy come to Ma. sometime!!

Jimmy if you see this, What are you using on The Burning Of The Midnight Lamp on the guitar? Is it a rotovibe or wah. What are you using on Day Of The Eagle?

Just curious, as Ive said before on here I love your guitar tones! I struggle everytime I play to get my guitar tone like I want it. I think I nail the tone I want about every 100th time i pick the guitar up. The rest of the time something seems missing to me.
