I had the pleasure tonight to go see Neanderpaul perform in Jackson TN. He played at the Green Frog Coffee Company on the courthouse square. This venue is a former Starbucks and is still a coffee shop with food.

For those who dont know Neanderpaul. He is a one man band, he uses sample loops to build up songs. Ive never really done much of this so I wanted to go and see what he was doing and plus after conversing on here with Paul for the past couple of years I wanted to meet a fellow musician who is out there playing live. Paul has played 9 shows in the last couple of weeks and has a few more before he returns home to VA. I think hes been all the way to TX and had played Little Rock Ark the night before. I have to say Im kind of jealous of him just getting on the road and doing what he does.

For anyone that reads any of my post. you know that Im big on getting out there and playing music live. Its not going to happen behind your computor you have to get out there to see what youve got.

Paul plays a wide range of music, I heard Hendrix, U2 and Elvis to mention a few covers he did along with some realy nice original numbers. What Paul does is start with one rythym instrument and play thru a few bars of music, recording it into a loop. He then picks up another instrument and adds a second instrument and so on and so on. He then sings to it, even recording vocal lines and singing harmony over his own lines. I was very impressed with his commnd of this style of playing. Paul put on a 2 hour show that had him playing drums, bass, guitar and piano. The thing that impressed me most was Pauls voice. He has excellent range and great control of his pitch.

If any other bandmixers are anywhere close to Pauls travels I just recomend that you go see him. It was a little over an hour drive for me, but I would have driven further to see Paul perform live.

Below are a few pictures to check out.

Paul when you see this Thanks for Inviting me and a big Thanks for Entertaining me and my daughter. Great Show!!!

Sounds like an awesome time man. The pics are killer. That freaking pedal-board is a beast. I love watching Paul's you tube stuff. I'm sure it's a really cool thing to see live.

Safe travels Paul. Keep up the rockin' dude.

Cool to see you two together, I wish I had been in the area when Paul played either Shreveport or Nacogdoches, but I was en route or already in Las Vegas at the time.

I see part of a wurlitzer, that's a nice instrument. I hope Paul likes it half as much as I like mine. Love the sound of that thing.

Thanks for the pics John.

Speaking of the piano, Paul did one non-looping songs in his set. He played Hendrix's Castles Made Of Sand on piano and just sang it. That one sent chills down my neck, Ive always loved that song and he just killed it.

Once again I have to comment that Paul has one of the best voices Ive heard in a while. Infact inspite of all he does, his voice is his best instrument. He finished the night with an accapella rendition of the theme song from the Andy Griffith show. He had the place really going on that one. My daughter was smiling and punching me in the side when he did it. I think he has it on one of his Youtube videos.

If anyone is anywhere in his path, get off the couch and go see this man, it is truelly inspiring to see him build loops live and build the songs up. If you go make sure you can see his feet when he plays. Hes manipulating his pedals with his toes while he sings and plays another instrument. Its just really awesome live to see. The videos dont do this man justice.

Good Luck Paul and safe driving the rest of your tour. Once again Im jealous, makes me want to pack up and hit the road!

I've always been impressed by his voice, & seeing that lil live vid he did was way cool, too. If he doesn't contact me when he gets in my area I'll lok him up & wound him severely, cuz that's just the kinda guy I am.

Paul - you have a lot of fans in here.

That couch in the pic looks like it came right off the Jetsons cartoon!

Doesn't Keller Williams abuse the looper as well>?

Funny but I didn't think it was original. Maybe he doesn't, I don't dig KW that much anyways.

JW, I am glad to hear you were impressed with Paul as much as I was.
Hell I was starting to sound like a paid spokesperson.
From the looks of the pictures we could all get together and start a Nepolian fan club. LOL
