Pigs are genetically closer to people than we realize. That is why alot of heart valve transplants were done with pig parts.
When a pig gets sick it can really develope some nasty bugs.
When they get to us they can be really nasty.....That's why I say kill em all and have a really BIG BARBECUE....
The only problem with this idea is that if there are no swine left...........
What are we going to start calling politicians.....humans :D

One slight difference. Most of the deaths associated with the flu in the us annually are people with one foot in the grave already.
I have yet to see or hear an accurate demographic of the Mexicans whom have died thus far.

I found a cure for it saturday at the wifes family reunion. It came out of a pot with some weird looking piping coming out of it. Two or three shots of it will kill anything making you feel bad. Till the next morning.

The pulled pork was killer !!

And its another day in Paradise !!!

Omg I just sneezed! Quick, somebody! I need IMMEDIATE medical attention!

Seems that after the election, the media is doing anything & everything to stir us up about something new, but this is just ridiculous at this point in time. Why oh WHY can't they just give us some NEWS & STICK TO THE FACTS?!?!?!?!?

I actually started this thread because I thought it was kinda important. :D
I take it that most here in the revolution would not be 'Union Soldiers'

Anyway the odd thing is as stated that its not hitting anywhere near like the total in Mexico as Sans rightly pointed out. The thing is why?

I don't know the first thing about Viruses but perhaps this is why it did not get detected in Mexico at first because it just seemed like regular flu then off it went on some trip in the Genes world to become something far more deadly.

Hearing a Medic talk yesterday which was very interesting she said that it isn't right now that they are worried about, it's the fall season here and Autumn obviously elsewhere. Conditions aren't good right now but the fall is ideal for a stabilization of this flu and hence the pandemic.

Do you eat and talk with your mouth open? :D
This is one thing I cannot stand but I've been sneezed on, Coughed on, watched people spit food from their mouths at the dinner table and gob in toilets.

At the end of the day this is just one reason why it has every chance of gaining a foothold should it wish to?

Water purifiers, air filtration systems, anti bacterial soaps and cleaning products. THESE are what's killing us. If your body doesn't have to learn to fight germs, it will never learn how. If someone goes up against a pro boxer, who has the best chance? Someone who boxes regularly, or someone who has never fought in their life? Sure, we need to clean up the pollution in land, water and air, but if you keep your home germ free, you're going to have a hard time going outside. At least that's MY excuse for living like a slob. As Al Bundy put it, "We must learn from our brothers, the cockroaches.

I totally agree with that Rat.
Rarely do I take anything for anything and I'm hardly ever sick with colds and stuff. I even missed antibiotics after stitches not that this matters its just the way I am.

I've found beer to be a great help in most situations with the odd regular hot toddy when needed. :D

That said when something nasty gets you, you have to do something nasty back.

As I pointed out before virus replicate via the host rna (or is it dna)
Anyway no the truth seeps through a little at a time. So far it is only killing Mexicans. I wonder which genetic strand that is in the Mexican population is the weak link? If the epidemiologist were real and not political puppets they would have told us already.
Perhaps we will be lucky and this one is self limiting (as it seems to be)
Will the next one?
One thing is for sure, the polaticians running the CDC and WHO dont give a rats ass who or how many die. They are going to stick to the big lie!

You're finally getting the point. Politicians care about two things and two things only.

1. Money

2. Votes

In that order.

Period.

Don't know the current numbers, haven't watched the news the past day or so, but still nowhere near epidemic or pandemic levels, especially when you consider that less than 200 people have died so far compared to some 36,000 each winter due to the regular garden variety flu, which is rarely if ever blasted all over the news for days on and as an epidemic/pandemic.

It's a slow news week and the media can sensationalize this to make lots of money. A lot like politicians huh...

What the fck is the difference between a ""pan" -demic and an epidemic.. ??

PAN = Global like Pan American games.
Epi - demic = like one georaphic region.
The three villiges that were totally decimated by the Ebola virus was an epidemic. Had it jumped continents it would have been Pandemic.

See?

Thx Sans. I thought it might have been yet another new catch-phrase- word that the gov't made up to keep our little minds busy.
