Is anybody worried about this because I am. There have been many scare tactics afoot over the years but people dying is a different matter.

Spittle, Coughing, touching someone, Kissing, SEX, breathing in exhaled air from an infected mouth.

Spitting! <<< Gee stop it will yah!

Bird flu was different and was at that time curtailed to some point but this does sound something other.

Read the fine print. At last count only 68 people have died. More people die of pneumonia than that. It is being hyped, to what end I am not sure.
But at this point it does not meet any medical criteria of epidemic.
All case in the US are mysteriousy fully recovered. ie not really all that sick to start with. A WHO game? Who knows.

Believe me I've been here long enough to know a story is everything here. However there are differences that I see at least.

Being viral, a week or two should tell all. The low mortality rate would indicate a possible wide spread of the disease. Unlike something virulent like Ebola, that kills its victims before they can spread the disease to many others. A virus, not having it's own DNA uses the host DNA to replicate. It can mutate quickly and disappear as fast as it appears.

Shoot I forgot you were a nurse or have been Sans. Kudos.
I think that is what I was trying to say. this is kinda scary because it is on our backdoor for a change and let be honest. Mexico is hardly the holiday place it once was according to reports which means degradation perhaps?

Not saying that is the way it is. That again is TV news people.
Thanks Sans.

Didn't we go through this in the '70's?

scare tactics are pretty easy to manufacture, and combine the age of genetic engineering, and we get lovely stuff like this, makes me wonder if we aren't going to be told there is a immunization for it, we all get stuck and then bird flu does the trick a couple years later, like the poisons from jets that have more then con trails, trailing them, it all serves an end

There's going to be a pandemic sooner or later. This may or may not be it. Who knows? Right before World War I there was the Spanish flu pandemic that killed 30-40 million people worldwide. We have to be a bit concerned when there appears to be a possibility of a pandemic. There's SO MANY people in the world, it wouldn't take long for a pandemic to spread in this day and age. Hopefully this Swine flu will be a mild form, however a bunch of people have already died in Mexico, but those contracting the disease in the U.S. have had mild symptoms. All we can do is wait and see what happens at this point.

George, I would like to ask you a question. The info that the media is reporting is that there is a 7% mortality rate and I love to listen to Coast to Coast A.M. on the way home from late night gigs. The last I heard this morning was that 1300 people world wide have been infected and that 81 people have died in the last few days.If you were to take that as an example and you took the population world wide would that translate to a pandemic? I have a trust issue with the man. The question in my mind is; where does the control issue come from? Usually when the Man is trying to control the general population they use scare tactic's.

What I'm hearing so far does not sound like a major pandemic, sounds more like scare tactics, probably trying to drum up business for immunizations so they can shoot more mercury into millions of us. Mercury in vaccines??? What are they thinking??? And they don't want to admit it has anything to do with several horrendous childhood diseases that have suddenly appeared since the age of immunization began...yeah right...Mercury causes brain damage. Which is exactly what Autism is, ADD, ADHD etc. None of those existed before vaccines were invented, vaccines that contain mercury.

No, I don't trust the medical industry, or the news media, but this does not sound like the mortality rate of a major problem. 81 deaths out of 1300 known cases is a very low mortality rate. I didn't know none of the cases in the US had been fatal so far, but I didn't see or read any of what passes for news yesterday. I usually try to avoid it as much as possible, too depressing and it's only what the advertisers want you to know anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, this is just another example of the news media sensationalizing anything they possibly can to make a buck. and they'll wring every penny out of it they can before they move on to the next story, so you can expect to hear about it until it's no longer profitable.

Vaccines also contain:

Aluminum Sulfate
Anti-Freeze
Formaldehyde
Phenol (carbolic acid)
Neomycin
Streptomycin

There's a few other eye-opening toxins in vaccines, but read this for a real scare (and not a tactic.. this is what the CDC and big pharma doesn't want publicized):

Vaccine Facts:

Most states require a minimum of 36 vaccinations by the time a child is 5 years old. Most occour between the day of birth and 2.5 years of age.

7 vaccines (polio, hepatitis A, varicella, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, and haemophilus influenzae b) have NOT been "evaluated or tested for their carcinogenic potential, mutagenic potential, or for impairment of fertility" or "reproductive capacity" according the vaccine manufacturers' own product inserts.

3 vaccines (varicella, hepatitis A, and rubella) were cultured in human diploid cells (eg. human embryonic lung cell cultures and human diploid cell cultures WI-38 and MRC-5). The Chickenpox vaccine contains "residual components of MRC-5 cells including DNA and protein."

6 vaccines (polio, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus) contain formaldehyde - a highly noxious and carcinogenic preservative.

5 vaccines (hepatitis B, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, and haemophilus influenzae b) contain thimerosal, a mercury derivative preservative BANNED by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in over-the-counter (OTC) drug preparations because of questions over safety. (Federal Register: April 22, 1998 (Volume 63, Number 77)][Page 19799-19802]

5 vaccines (hepatitis B, hepatitis A, pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus) contain aluminum as an adjuvant. Aluminum accumulates in brain, muscle and bone tissue and can be linked to causing fibrosarcomas (cancerous tumors) at the injection site.

5 vaccines (measles, mumps, polio, varicella, and diphtheria) are developed from animal ingredients including cell cultures of chick embryos, monkey kidney cells, fetal bovine serum, and embryonic guinea pig cell cultures. There has been a moratorium in this country on animal organ transplants in humans because of concerns of people contracting latent animal viruses. Despite the history of unscreened animal viruses infecting humans from injectable products like vaccines [monkey cells and SV40 virus and bovine serum and "Mad Cow Disease" (bovine spongiform encephalopathy)], this practice continues with vaccines.

5 vaccines (measles, mumps, rubella, polio, and varicella) are LIVE virus vaccines. Live virus vaccines can sometimes infect the recipient and can even sometimes infect those in close contact with the recipient. These vaccines are given to young children, and vaccine immunity sometimes wears off for adults. This can put a pregnant mother or immunocompromised adult at risk by being around a recently vaccinated child with live virus vaccines.

For ALL 11 vaccines there have been NO long term studies on the cumulative effect on the child's developing immune system of combining all these vaccines together.

For ALL 11 vaccines the biological mechanism for why some children react to a vaccine is not understood.

For ALL 11 vaccines there are no genetic or other lab screening tests available to determine which children will react to a vaccine.
