Only time will tell if this will be forgotten so soon. Janet Jackson can't sing worth a sh*t so who cares about her? Boo hoo if people forget about Janet Jackson. This story about Susan Boyle is bigger than a story about one person. If she's a flash in the pan that's irrelevant. The big story is the wake up call for people to LISTEN FIRST and NOT PREJUDGE somebody based on appearance. The "Idol" mentality hopefully has been shattered and the superficial B.S. crap that has nothing to do with MUSIC might FINALLY come to an end. This has given me some hope anyway...

I hope your right Bob. But the fact that those whom are "reporting" on this for the most part are fake people. Does not encourage me much.
Our whole society has become based on apperence alone.
Fake Hummer's to drive, fake music to listen to, fake hair to wear, fake tans, fake nails, fake boobs, fake lips, designer this & designer that. It's no wonder the masses accept lying polaticians as "normal". Why not, when your whole life is a lie.

Sorry, I did not intend to poo poo her success. I truly wish her the best.

The "Idol" mentality was temporarily bent but not shattered, and it'll spring back into place all too soon. Same thing with the plain looking guy stunning them with opera a couple years ago. He brought the judges to tears, but look at how they pre-judged Susan on looks alone. They're snobbish a$$holes and always will be. On a good note, I and a lot of others remember the opera singer. He made a much bigger impression on me than all the "beautiful people" that impress the judges.

Im more worried that a lot of people are saying look at the ugly duck sing, not in how wonderful this beatiful person really is from the start. Is the world always beatiful to the blind man ?

Its just another day in Paradise !!!

I just wonder how a blind man knows when he's done wiping his butt. Keen sense of smell?

I just finished watching her on Larry King live the girl has pipes no doubt about that, there is some young soulful singer on that might steal her thunder I hope not. I hope she at least gets an opportunity to record some songs and hopefully some good songs written by a good writer.

Too many of us judge music by what we see...which is totally missing the point, isn't it? Susan Boyle can sing, period.

OK, time to 'fess up...the reason I don't put up a picture of me? I'm Susan Boyle! Well, I live alone with a cat anyway, does that count?
