Personify Entertainment presents soul/r&b/jazz/funk/gospel singer JUANITA!

JUANITA is gearing up for some 2009 shows and need backing musicians and/or start her own band.

JUANITA is a professional singer/motivational speaker just featured in the February issue of Cosmopolitan magazine...she is doing BIG THINGS!

We are looking for a creative, talented, and serious bass player, and keyboard player who can play Jazz Standards, Soul/R&B covers, and original music.

Juanita - I don't often go off-site to check ppl out, so if you're serious, perhaps you'd consider putting some examples of your work on your profile, in MP3 format. Reviews & history aside, I gotta hear the pipes before I can make a decision about joining up with you.

Also, the influences section of your profile is a bit shallow. I'd like to know more about what you're about. Who do you cover? Who do you sound like or try to emulate?

Has your band recently broke up? You have some gigs listed. (I had no idea that Masonic Lodges hosted musical events.) Are you performing as a solo at these events, or are you in dire need of help to fulfill contractual obligations? Have you ever been in a band? Do you perform with karaoke style recordings? How much musical knowledge do you have? Are you just getting started in a new field of endeavor, or do you have actual experience as a singer? Do you sight-read? Are you familiar with music theory? Can you communicate with musicians using musical jargon? Do you have other players, or are you just going to do it all with keys & bass?

Your profile looks more business-oriented than musical, frankly. I hope that you haven't left the art out of your work. I'm not trying to be harsh, but there's very little reference to anything musical in your profile. It's nice that you're active in your community, & that you have sheepskins in Marketing & Mental Health & a working knowledge of beauty & fashion & such, but I would honestly think that, with all of that behind you, you'd be better able to advertise for musical help.

Many players are basically business-illiterate, or even have corporate-phobias, so you might want to downplay the business knowledge & concentrate on your muso abilities & experience. If you're a bit shy of actual experience or knowledge, by all means tell us, or it will come back to bite you when it's time to audition ppl.
