Not sure what to say about this all but I do know that we are all different and that goes for people in power too.

Being from the UK I find that Americans rarely grumble that much frankly. They just get on with their lot and that mainly is their day. In England it is much different. We complain about the weather, people, things, other things too.

I think Americans should complain more. Heck I'm one of you now but I find complaining about something does not actually add roses to your shirt collar, or sit well. Perhaps musicians are more elevated and kindred, at least that is my view.

But among the regular populous?
Nah.

you are right.. the masses don't care so long as they get to keep their single family home, their bmw, and lifestyle. Musicians are poorer generally, so maybe it's just elevated sense of being stepped on. Seems people are easily led by the media too, look at how complicit they were in the wars... the media SOLD those wars to america as much as the white house did.. They sell us FEAR every single day...

I'd have to say, my non-musician co-workers all seem pretty pissed, my friends and family seem pretty pissed, but many of them are also biased by fox news or nbc, or whoever, they are all the same.. split right down the middle too... these wedge issues like immigration, abortion, war, economy, blame games... they do a fantastic job of keeping citizens bickering amongst themselves and ill-equipped to stand together against the real enemy within.

An old saying comes to mind:

On dishnetwork I found two stations that are completely public sponsored with no sponsorship from corporations or government. Link TV and Freespeech TV. They are the closest thing to hearing the truth that I've found. Lots of BBC stuff and world news on there.

I love Link TV. can't say it isn't just another propaganda tool though. It really is hard to disseminate between the truth and propaganda nowadays!
In fact if there were an alien invasion, I'd wait till one was close enough to throw a rock at to see if it went through it, to see if it was just a hologram!

Oh, yeah, Hayden. I don't take EVERYTHING on there as the truth. Those two stations are definitely very Democrat oriented. But a lot of the shows from other countries are showing stuff that you know is going on, but isn't aired on U.S. media stations.

This is a great post and in fact what annoys me so much living here. There is just so much going on and all you hear about is Governor this, weather that and right in between are the adverts, generally medical in nature for they are the only ones who can afford them.

BBC News is good yes because by and large it is unbiased news and covers nearly every aspect of daily life. However they too last year I believe were brought about for falsifying a news story so I heard. I cannot remember the exact details.

But a lot of the shows from other countries are showing stuff that you know is going on, but isn't aired on U.S. media stations.

1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.'

6. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.'

7. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!

I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!' To which I said, of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets!' She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?' My reply was, 'No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.' To which I'll add, having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.

I have firearms hanging on my walls! She would have a freakin heart attack in my house. And I might forget how to do CPR.
We keep the majority of the modern weapons in a large safe. When we get home from work etc. my sons and I break out the ones we would use in emergency and store them safely but available. Whenever we leave the house again, we secure our weapons back in the safe. With the exception of the ones my wife and I carry at all times.
I carry a firearm for the same reason as I have jumper cables, chains, tools, and a spare tire in my vehicles.
Just in case.

I believe that is just legal here but I cannot have it in my car because it then becomes illegal. I thought about applying for a gun license but that takes approx 6 months to a year of personal study on the person requesting it in NJ so I hear?

I've become rather good with my ancient weapon and my rooster friend will testify to. I've thought about making a double sling stone. Kind of like a rope or cloth with weights at either end, I'm sure I could master it. Pretty good with a bow and know how to make one. I even tried making a crossbow when I was eleven.

I understand completely someones feeling on being armed now. It scared the living daylights out of me at first though now I understand most people are very safe with them generally.

We used marbles to great effect when I was young.
My wrist rocket had an attachment that you could shoot arrows with as well. That was FUN!
