We have Hartke 350 heads with 2 x 4 x 10 aluminium cone cabs.

We also have a few Ampeg SVT 450H heads for a bit of variation, but the Hartke's really move the earth, incredible VFM.

hi there,used all sorts over the years-ampeg,harke,ashdown n all the usual suspects n now use a roland d bass n wish i had found out this beauty a long time ago.portable,realy big sound,can,t fault it.try one out,huge sound for size.

Have a Peavy FireBass 700 Head. Use a 15" Peavy BW Bass Reflex Cabnet on the bottom, A 15" Peavy BX Cabnet on top of stack. {Cabnets are "Old School"} Would love to have a "SWR". And a Cabnet with 4 tens and a Tweeter/Horn.

best I ever played is a 'workin mans combo' - swr. hard to beat.

Greeting to all, my bass rig is a Ampeg SVT Pro 4 with 2 SWR Goliath III (4-10), and 2 Big Ben ( single 18's) if I Play an out side fest or biger venue I add 2 more Goliath III. Now I play Reggae Music and the low end must be there or it ain't Reggae. I used and abused just about every kind of bass rig out there in my 25 year of playing and touring. The SVT pro give the clean power I need but , I got more low end out of my Hartke 7500 . now if I could get a Hartke preamp and get the bottom (man.......)
and use the amp of the SVT pro 4, you feel me ? you really would. The SWR cabs move some air and don't seem to blow , everything else I was alway lose speakers, my Big Bens are load with EV thousand watt 18's.
I'm thinking about upgrading to 2 Augilar 4-12 cabs or (4) 2-12 Cabs.

Been playing bass professionally for 25+ years. Play mainly blues. I'm not into volume as much as tone. To my ears the Peavey TNT 115 has the best tone for blues. I've never liked playing through ten inch speakers. No matter how many I've played through I don't get the fat bottom of a single 15 inch speaker. The TNT is also a great studio amp. What you play through all depends on what kind of music you like and what you think sounds the best. I really enjoyed reading what you're using. Later...fisherman bob

I had an SVT 4 pro for about 10 years, for me, it was the holy grail, until I got the GK1001 RB. I really love this amp! Little tweaks do alot. I tend to run a choice of two of these cabs: a BAGEND 1x18, SWR1x15, BlackWidow1x15, and/or GK 4x10....... we usually run the 18 and a 15 live (we're a death metal band), really thumps w/the low B. (we use 5 string basses and 7 string guitars) I don't really like the GK 4x10, I'm thinking about getting an Ampeg. I like the 15 for jazzy improv.
I've also used a friend of mine's Genz Benz, and really dig the glassy smoothness.

I play through a Genz Benz Neo rig. Neo Pak 3.5 head through a NeoX212T cab...i prefer the "punch in the face" over the "boom it took 2 minutes to get here" sound.

I play Eden exclusively...

For larger gigs lately....I run a WT550, into a D210xst and (2) D112xlts....for smaller gigs and at church I will run the 112's with the wt550 or with a wtx-260

If the gig is HUGE...I dont do many of thos anymore...lol...I will run the 210xst with a 410xlt...and power it with a Wt800

I use a Markbass system. 12 inch amp w/ 2 x 10 extension. I have owned or used nearly all the major amp brands over the years and (other than my 60's Ampeg B15...they say the first is always the best, right?), this is by far the best bass amp I have ever used. Light, compact, plenty of balls and built like a tank. They are a little hard to get though. Some Guitar Centers stock a few. There are also some online dealers. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the system I have a solid 10. They are that good. Check them out if you get a chance. Regardless of who tells you what, the only way to tell is by playing through one, and of course if you can't, read all the reviews and info you can. I was lucky, I got to test mine out. It is a Great product that I highly recommend.

20 years of experience says AMPEG SVT heads are the best sounding. I use a Marshall 200 watt with (2) 2 by 15 peavy cabs. That is tone enough for any self-respecting bassist.

I have used fender, hartke, kustom, etc. SVT has the tone you want, just apply your effects.

I,m currently using a pair of SVT2 Pro heads into two 8x10 cabs, One side is dry signal with the other effects ( helps keep the bottom end together when using overdrive/fuzz).
I,m also looking at getting a couple of GK 400rb combo,s for smaller gigs.

Ampeg tube pre-amp into a Mesa/Boogie 400+. The cab is a weird Ampeg creation, 2-10", 2-6.5", 4" horn and a downward pointing 18" all in one cabinet.

I dont play bass a lot anymore, but when I do I use an old P-bass with an active EMG pickup, Badass Tailpiece into an old Sunn Model T head to a 4x12 guitar cab. I wonder what it would sound like thru my Mesa head with modern distortion? I also have some old PA speakers with 15 in Blackwidows that I have used for bass.

I just have to wonder where some of you guys play on here with those huge bass rigs. I used to have an Ampeg 8x10 cab that sounded great but was just too much to lug around. And really it moved too much air. The older I get the more I use the pa to do my work for me. The best bass amp I ever heard tonally was an old Ampeg combo unit that had a flip top amp, I think they were a B-15. But for basic rock that was a cool little unit.

Bassman 250 15" It sounds great even by itself. 10" are ok but don't like 2x10 more like a single 4x10 cabinet is better.
