SWEEEET!!!!

I'm sorry if I seem like a spammer today. But I just got back on the internet after a while off-line.

I didn't know there was a video of us playing at the Canyon Club. Our Drummer Rob had to move to California. But I guess his wife took some footage of us with her camera. This is footage of us opening for The English Beat.

Check

it

out

Cool Shredd,

Thats not really my taste in music, but its cool your doing something you like and that is fun.

I see the Mesa over there, so I guess your still using the Dual.

Thanks for checking in. And the video sounds good. Got good vibe to it. Im sure the gigs are a blast.

Yea, that show was a lot of fun. I wish there was more to see. Originally I paid $50 for a video and audio recording of this show to one of the sound guys.

After the show the dude was gone and all that was left for me was a VHS tape that was a POS recording. These clips sounded better. But when we went to play the Canyon Club again, we were informed that the guy had done it to more people than just us and was fired.

JW, if you look just to the right of the Mesa, you'll see a mic'd up Fender DeVille 4x10 (loaded with Nos of course). The Mesa belonged to the guitar player of another band. And to tell you the truth, I wasn't jealous in the least. Fenders really are better for this style of music.

You know, I never really thought I'd find myself playing this style of music. But sometimes you just find that it's more important to surround yourself with true talent and great friends that feel like family, than chasing a dream with strangers who are half-assed musicians that just look the part and are playing a pretend game and dress-up. You find that a lot in hard-core music.

Truth be told, 4 of the members in that clip used to play hard-core before joining this band. But hard-core music also involves, and is mainly driven by negative aspects of life. For some, like my friends in Korn, it becomes a successful venture to tap into those aspects and express them. For those of us in this band, it just became tiresome.

Also. I would have to say that even I underestimated the power of this style of music. The amount of hot chicks that come to see us play far outweigh the amount that came to see any of the past bands I was involved with.

So yea, I'm having a lot of fun.

Thanks guys. I'll have more clips coming in the future.

Shredd Im with you on the dream thing.

Im lucky that my old band got back together. We like playing together and we draw a crowd that includes a lot of females.

The only thing is now I hear they are going to start writing with their old original group again. Even after I started writing some stuff specifically for us. Oh well, I dont know where that puts me. I guess Im cool til they start telling me to stop booking gigs.

Hell if it doesnt work out I might start playing some raggae!

Paul, good to hear from you too man. Anything new in the works for you man?

JW, see that kind of sucks. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. My Hard-core ventures were all short-lived. It just seemed that the musicians in my past were too caught up in "making it big", than more of a long-term collective effort. With this band, no one person is a constant attention getter.
So for the most part egos are kept in check just by the design of Reggae music, how it's played, and what it stands for. Which is unity, one love, positive vibration, etc..It's up to the musicians to collectively become one when playing live.

By that I mean that even though I'm the "lead guitarist", I probably only play maybe 3 leads per show (NOT PER SONG, as most hard-core or Metal musicians are used to). For most of the show, I'm all rhythm. It takes patience to be content with that. If I play 2-chords throughout a whole song, I'm cool with it, because the song as a whole still takes shape very well with every musician playing minimal basic parts.

Since we now have 3 lead singers, there's going to be a healthy dose of variety along with the unity in the near future.

Plus, let me put this in perspective as well, there are maybe, MAYBE, 8 (As far as we know) Reggae bands in the whole city of Las Vegas. As opposed to the huge number of Alternative, Rock, or Metal bands here. That means that when we play on bills with alternative or Rock bands we just stand out like crazy. And usually in a good way. It becomes a refreshing change to the crowds.

Hope things work out for you man. I know how it feels to work hard just to have others go their separate ways just because they have a new-found (cough, cough, bullsh*t) direction in mind.

Sounds like a great peaceful artistically satisfying musical direction you are headed in! I wish you continued success. I am headed out for a tour in 2 weeks. All the way to TX and back in 2 weeks.
