Last time, I put them up on another site and nobody checked them out... so I figured I'd heed everyone's advice and upload them to THIS site... lol

Okay, so the song is on my profile.

I'll upload the lyrics later.

Please tell me what you think.

(Oh yeah, the song was suppose to have distortion on it, but I can't figure out how to get my software to take in both the amp and stomp pedal effects. Whenever I plug the software into the amp it botches up the stomp pedal and visa versa.

I'm really not sure what to think.. I figured I would post just to let you know you aren't being ignored.. but wow.. That stuff is really out there.. I think Capt'n scott would love it. I'm speechless.

Kinda spacey and experimental. I'd like to hear it with more production (the distorted guitar you were talking about and bass and drums at least). What program are you using that gives you trouble adding amps and fx?

At least I gave off the right vibe of spacey -- Intangible.

I'm using stealthplug as the plugin to the pc and I run it through riffworks.

The stealthplug can plug into my amp or my effects pedal, but when i plug it into the out on my amp, the stomp pedals effects sound really screwed up.

When i plug it into the stompbox, since it has 2 outputs for left and right, it doesn't carry the distortion.

It's been driving me crazy.

Okay...I'm listening...sounds like you have some work to do before I can give you any kind of critique, cuz I don't hear a song in there. I hear a guy goofing around on his guitar. If you have a direction, it just isn't coming through for me...& I feel like I just wasted 3:11 of my life waiting for something to happen.

LOL Philby, you get an award. I could only get 1:01 into it before I had to concede defeat...

I think Philby is right, there is no tune in there...

It's one track, no obvious verse, chorus or bridge..

Effects alone do not make a track.

I liked it, though I wouldn't do the whistle sound for a whole measure, just approx. a two count, it takes from the melody. I really liked the end, though a bit toooo bold and loud, tune it down a bit. I can see great potential with this. Keep up the good work. :)

Tried it again & I still don't get what you ppl see in it. Where's the form? the melody? the structure?

It's aimless noodling to me....so please, someone explain it to me.

It is aimless noodling Philby. You are not wrong on that.

Reminds me a bit of some of the ambient effects that Steve Lukathur did in some of the Dune soundtrack.

But it's not a "song". Not by any metric.

There are "ideas" in there, sure. But There's no form to it, there is no structure. Nothing to "grab hold of" for the listener. No hook. No entry.

Songwriting is a lot more than just making noises with your instrument.

I would start by trying to give it some definite structure. You don't have to stick to standard conventions like verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus (I'm a prog-head, so conventions bore me). But there has to be some kind of structure or else your listener isn't going to invest in any repeat listenings.

You've got a loose "theme" in there; themes are meant to be expanded and explored, not repeated until bored.

Very interesting concept. Not unlike some of the mellow instrumentals I hear on Urge Radio's meditation channel. You almost could add some animal sounds (birds singing, frogs croaking) and it could stand alone as an instrumental. Seriously. You obviously have talent. I have a hard time figuring out where vocals would enhance this song, but I'm sure you've got some good ideas along those lines. Would really like to hear what you sound like years from now. You could be dangerous...

I heard a song in there somewhere. The ending really woke me up (I was snoozing off.. it's late..) Put some drums to it.
