You guys are hopeless. It's a sad day when people believe that WE are the evil in this world. Nothing could be further from the truth...

Sorry, Bob, but it's historical fact that this country has been the cause of many evils that plague the world today.

Many of us (I consider myself part of the 'revolution') just want truth, justice, and new beginnings, a fresh start shall we say.

This country was not founded on all the BS they teach us in school. It was founded on wealthy businessmen becoming land owners, and then bringing over slaves and indentured servants to prop themselves up upon. There's a long standing and well documented history of it.

Did you know that non-land owners were disqualified from voting or running for office? Did you know that the wealthy intentionally stirred racist tensions between blacks, indians, and whites, knowing that keeping them divided insured the wealthy from ever having a strong uprising against their tyranny.

Did you know that indentured servants were only a small step above a slave?

The very people who wrote our constitution were almost all guilty of tyranny and injustice, some at staggering levels.

It might be a shocking surprise to you if you read the ORIGINAL constitution, before so many congresses edited and re-wrote sections of it. Even the owning land to vote part was in it. It was so disturbingly slanted to serve the wealthy, and our schools refuse to teach the truth.

Instead, they choose to fill our heads with all this patriotism and lies to support it, and then expect you to defend the country against anything, including scrutiny.

It's not much different than a guitarist who thinks he's so damn awesome and gifted that he can no longer scrutinize himself, refuses to believe he's not the best, refuses to believe it's possible to improve, and starts a fist-fight with ANYONE who dares to question his awesome-ness. Think about it. I did.

So this whole thread and issue isn't that different from me?
I'm confused now...

having your head in a hole means your ass is in the air!

I take it then that you already know everything that you need to know about our government and therefore need no further information to base your judgments on?
maybe if you took in this "well documented" information you could make a more "informed" decision.
It's all there in government documents that are available for everyone to see, if you so choose to!

Bob, I'm not saying that we are the evil in this world, only that we are a big part of the problem.

We aren't out there holding out our hands & telling ppl to join us, that our ways are better, or even trying to give other ppl a leg up to help themselves. If we were doing that, we'd be working in Haiti, in the African nations, etc.

We are undermining other gov'ts, putting manufacturing plants in the 3rd world to save $ for products that cost us no less. It only gets more $ for the ppl what own the factories, & puts Americans out of work, while the populace working at the factories don't have the safety restrictions that we enjoy, or the benefits that we would be entitled to.

Give me an example of where we selflessly helped another country, all by ourselves. We have not. We have JOINED IN with other countries to help those in need, but when we act unilaterally, we use the populace, take their resources for far less than they're worth, or completely dismantle their gov't & put one in its place that will look the other way while we do as we wish on their soil or with their resources. It often backfires, as it has with Iraq, Iran, Cuba, & Panama, for example.

There are no punishments from our gov't when companies like Gerber sell tainted baby food to the poor ppl in Africa, or give it to them free.

We have experimented with strange farming practices throughout the 3rd world. Always, this has ended in tragedy for the locals' health & general welfare, without increasing farm productions. Some of these practices were committed by our gov't, & others by corporations, but there has never been any sort of discipline or redress for it.

No, bob, we aren't the only evil in the world, & often the atrocities we commit are with the best of intentions. Still, when we act alone, we flook up, badly. When we work in conjunction with other countries, we still flook up occasionally, as we did in "returning the Jews to Israel," but at least there are other points of view, other countries to act as as a check against the stupid things we often do.

Our own gov't is supposedly set up to have the separate parts check each other, & hold back those that are making the wrong decisions for the ppl. We should allow, nay, ENCOURAGE, other countries to hold each other in check, including ourselves, when actions seem necessary, to have more minds working together to solve world problems. We need to quit looking at ourselves as the end-all & be-all of the world, & LISTEN to other ideas, when it comes to helping nations & ppl in need, & to work together with them, rather than to decide to handle all the world's problems like WE own it.

We don't, you know.

For instance the openly admitted to (declassified) 24 FEMA camps manned by the military; why weren't those camps used for the Katrina victims?

well said Phil!!!

Anything that the U.S. has ever done pales in comparison to all of the shite Britain has done throughout history.
They dont seem to be as hated.
Spain made a good run at it too - but they wiped out most of their haters.

More than anything else, I think it's one part reaction to the typical american attitude and one part envy. People cant stand the guy at the top of the hill. Unless it's them.
