That's right! I did a cover of Lamb of God's old song "Ruin" and Lamb of God's brand new song "Set to Fail"!

Both of these songs were incredibly hard, and were done in one take with no vocal effects.

Now don't get all "I hate metal!" on me...Listen to these as if you liked metal, so I can get an honest opinion on my metal vocals.

Better than I expected actually.
Not my cup of tea but you manage to still make the lyrics understandable, and it aint all that bad going by other other vocalists that Ive heard that do this sort of thing.
(Granted I havent spent a ton of time listening to those type of vocalists, but I dont live in a cave.)

Reminds me of someone Ive heard before...
... kind of reminded me of Martin Walkyier from the old band Sabbat at certain points. Except more screechy, and without a lisp.

Cheers.

Thanks Zip, though I don't really know if your response was a good or a bad one...

Anyway, I just posted a third cover on my page.

Hey! I never said that!

I just think you guys will like it more than my older ones, cause this style is more metal. It has more complex vocals and more complex music. It has melody, solos, and all that good stuff.

You definitely got your style down Ryan. It embodies texture more than on-key-note-ness, right? But it is cool. Did this kind of vocals stem from Pantera? I might add tho, you gonna grow nodes on your throat if U keep singing this for the next 5 years and they'll have to be surgically removed. I do need some vox on a couple of my songs, tho.
Do you sing and write lyrics, or just sing? (I suck at writing metal [or any] lyrics).

Nodes? Not on my vocal chords...I do the special style known as "Fry" screaming, taught by Melissa Cross. It's a style of screaming that does virtually no damage to your throat.

And yeah, I've written a couple songs, but writing isn't my strong point...

Do you think you could add some vocals to my song "Telephone-Poles" ?
1st song click on my av . I can send you the .wav file, if u want.. It screams for your kind of vox. It may be too tame for your liking, tho..

Ryan you sound really good! I like the scream!
You know I am not into the roaring vocal style, but yourlyric was understandable. That a hell of a lot better than the norm for me in this genre'. Good job young un.
I really would like to hear you apply yourself to some rockin "sung" vocals.
