Gosh I so understand what you are going thru Cryp, been there a hundred times. Being the leader of a band is one of the toughest things one can do in they're life. Leading a band is just like running a buisness with all the fricken cards stacked against you. The only way to make it work is to eat sleep and live the band, usually the other members can so take you for granted. So I plead to all you bandmix musicians PLEASE don't take your leaders for granted cooperate with them and work with them because they (we) are sacrificeing a lot to make the band work.
I hope things work out for you cryp and you are able to find resonable members that you so deserve to play with and travel the musical journey with. Just keep in mind that when one door closes another one always opens (this has been my experience) as I have been thru the same things and have now found a bass player and drummer that are like minded and really want the band to succeed and both of them are also really good singers and we just auditioned 2 combination singer/rythem guitar/keyboards and one of them fit the bill, basically a utility man so now we have 4 great lead singers and 3 of us have knowledge of music theory and harmonize really well so now we can have 4 part vocal power harmony's!
Cryp I had the same thing happen in one of the local venues here, one of the negatives about music that I hate is no matter how good you are they forget you really quick but this old addage does have a positive twist, they also forget about this kind of thing (with time) so we are now back playing in one of these kind of venues also if you have a big enough draw the club owners will tend to understand and after they get over it they may give you another chance. As often as these places change they're crappy management (about as often as we change underwear) you may yet get another opportunity to play there again. Good luck to you!
