Haley if you have a myspace you can post up pics for free so we put up pics from every gig.

A lot of folks go to see themselves.

Yea the beads work, maybe too good sometimes.

Looks like a good time was had by all. I got to make it up there some time when you have a gig. Didn't have time last trip, or a gig booked, I'd like to see you guys rock out. Been thinking about trying to make a trip for an open mic night sometime, also trying to make a few around here. Closest one is about 40 miles, the rest are further...

I didn't get any pics, but did go check out a couple of bands this weekend, got to sit in with one of them, (brought the Cort with me) the other band listened to one of my recordings, told me they might be in touch later to do some slide tracks. I didn't have "Last Train" with me, played them a cover of Kenny Wayne Shepperd's "While We Cry" that I recorded in 2001. The bass player called the other two over to listen and told them it "blew me away"... So that might bring something my way later on, you never know.

The sit in went pretty well, I wasn't warmed up of course, so it was a little rough around the edges, but everyone seemed to like it, and it looked like people were getting into it. Several came up later and told me they liked it, one guy said "You played the F*&K outta that guitar!"... so yeah I had to have a crowbar to get my head outta the door...but it was fun, need to do that more often.

Thats cool Bill, Im glad you are getting out and playing some. You should be cause you are a bad ass in my opinion.

People tell me at all my gigs how bad ass I am, but lately Ive been struggling a little with my leads. I got out in the crowd sat and hooked my wireless on a chair and pulled it out of the guitar just as I was getting into a big solo, talking about air guitar.

Im not getting the tone I want on leads, its just not lighting me up like it should. Of course Ive been changing amps almost every gig. Ive about made my mind up to just start lugging the half stack around again. Its the only one that seems to do what I want it too.

On another note, we have started recording some originals again. I dont know how soon we will have one done but once we do I'll post them up for listening. Ones kinda AC/DC meets The Beasie Boys called Rock N Ro Ho, and the other is a slow song, then weve got about 8 others that have been around for a few years so who knows. I might be back in the original music business again real soon. If we can get our little crowd into it it might be a blast.

Wanna borrow my Super Reverb? Maybe the Champ? Hehe...both sound great, wattage is liveable, especially the Champ, and plugged into the 2x12 Kustom cab you close your eyes and it's a lot bigger sounding amp but only around 6-8 watts. I've used it onstage before in places that we had to be really low volume, it sounds fabulous. The Super gets a bit loud, but I think if I keep the volume low and use the overdrive it might work for the kind of volume level you guys are trying for. I've been wanting to try it out that way, so far I've been with bands that play the usual loud stage volume so I haven't had a chance to try it out at low power level.

I think it would work, Eric Johnson uses a Twin Reverb at volume 3 for his clean sound, the Super should match it, it's a very similar amp, but lower wattage. Kick in the ovedrive for a little dirty, distortion pedal for el rauncho deluxe...

I'm planning to make a trip up that way sometime, have to get some rear tires, then I'd like to hit some open mics up that direction, I'll try to get in touch and plan it for when you have a gig, I want to hear your band too, and you might try it out. Who knows, you might be looking for an old Fender before you know it...I know I got hooked real quick...all it took was about 10 minutes listening to the Super Reverb onstage to know it was a keeper. Already knew the Champ was a killer little amp, I've been using it for the really low volume situations for 15 years. I know how to rebuild the silverface amps and make them sound as good as blackface too. Costs about $50 to do a complete recap, and a few resistors usually have to be replaced, so under $75 and it's good as new and sounds great. Downside is it's hard to find one for under $1000 no matter what shape it's in. Last one I saw was $1200 and beat up...

I'm glad to get out and play a little too, might try to hit one of the open mic places around here tonight, not completely decided yet, and still have to look and see what's going on tonight that's close enough to drive to. I'm off for the day so I'll have time...
