How's the clean-up going Philby?
Did it rain in WV today? We didnt get any here.

I managed to get the dogs out & back in before the rains came...& the sleets. Sat is our day with the grandson, but I wasn't about to do that here, so we went to my son's place to watch him. I ran around trying to get things taken care of, like car inspections & such, for a bit. It just wasn't going to happen. I eventually just quit trying when the sleets came on.

After Ian came home, we left & came home to find that the power co had reattached the line to the siding, & they left the rest like it was...like the phone line, of course. I'm just gonna cut that off, roll it up & hang it on the pole. We use cell phones now - no land lines.

Looks like things will work out well, now, with the exception of the line hanging even lower than it did before! I wish there was an alternative to the stupid power co, but whatchagonnado?

Talked to the ins guy, & he'll send me a check for the repairs, since they're so small.

Helluva pile of wood to cut up out there. Wish I could do that photo posting thing the rest you guys do.

Anyway, things are moving along well, here, sort of.

Lotsa trees - everywhere. I got 4 3/4 acres of 'em with my lil cabin. It's nice & quiet, when I'm not screaming.

Of course the car my friend loaned me has a busted head gasket. I'm gonna scream again soon.

Tomorrow I'm getting tires for my truck, if nothing else goes wrong.

Seems like it's been one thing after another after another for months, here. Just trying to keep on keepin' on.

I'd love to mill that up for my new stairs. (It's a lot better then that ol' blown down hemlock that I was gonna use. You are indeed a lucky man!

HJ - I have way too many of these oaks. I've got a cpl hemlocks out back that are about 60 ft high, & that's kinda rare around here. Most of my property is oaks & scrub pines & shag bark hickory.

Z - no, the insurance doesn't cover the tree removal unless its presense is dangerous. Again, I don't speak insuranceze, but that's the gist of what I was told. The only state where they cover tree replacement is Texas, for some reason. But I don't really need to replace it, as you can tell by the pics...btw - THANK YOU for posting them for me, & thanks as well for the info on how to do it myself! THat was nice of ya, man.

Hayden - not a fan, yet every time he speaks he says something that I uncomfortably agree with...I just wish he wasn't so abrasive & smug about everything. I look at Maher as if he were the polar opposite of the pro-wrestler right-wing mentality, & we don't really need either extreme.
