I got a message the other day and tried to reply. I keep getting prompted to upgrade my membership. Do you now need to have a premier membership just to send messages?

Yeah, I had a local musician contact me, recently. He was into the same styles of music as me, and he strongly indicated he wanted to get together.
I replied w/contact information - but never heard from him again.
Strange.
I wasn't sure if he changed his mind, or never got my message . . .

wow really? i was under the impression that non members could, at the least, RESPOND to a member's message. i guess not.

furthermore, if a non-member cant respond to a member, then whats the point of paying to be a member if when you find someone, they cant even respond to you if theyre not a member.

You can respond, just can't go to their page and message them. I do it all the time.

Ok, here's what I do.
1 - I go to the mailbox and pull up a message.
2 - I click the red "send reply" button
3 - I get a pop up window asking me "Upgrade your Membership"
4 - I click the "maybe later" continue button and the only thing that happens is the " Enjoy all the benefits of being a Premier Member of BandMix.com" banner is highlighted in green.

This doesn't happen to anyone else?

No, that is weird. I just double checked because I had a msg from a member today. Clicked on the red send reply button and it comes up with a subject line along with a box like this to type your response. That is sooo odd! Hope it works out for you.
